Shearergol 0
From.com We return to Premiership action against David O'Leary's side at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon, in a 3pm kick-off. And the vagaries of the fixture list (and our recruitment policy) mean that Glenn Roeder gets to do something Graeme Souness never did, namely manage a Newcastle side at this ground. NUFC: Given, Harper, Ramage, Babayaro, Elliott, Bramble, Boumsong, Parker, Solano, Emre, Dyer, N'Zogbia, Luque, Clark, Bowyer, Brittain, O'Brien, Shearer, Ameobi, Chopra. Nolberto Solano makes his first return to Villa since beginning his second stint on Tyneside, while Faye won't have returned from Egypt in time to feature. With Craig Moore beginning his quest for match fitness in the reserves on Thursday, our injury list is now down to three: Owen, Taylor and Carr. AVFC: Sorensen, Taylor, Hughes, Delaney, Mellberg, Ridgewell, Samuel, Davis, Angel, Baros, Phillips, Moore, Gardner, Whittingham, Hendrie, De La Cruz. James Milner cannot play under the terms of his loan from Newcastle, but old boy Aaron Hughes should feature. Villa have a trio of players sidelined with knee problems: Berger, Bouma and Laursen. Ex-mackem Gavin McCann is suspended but Sorensen should be between the posts. Eric Djemba-Djemba has also gone AWOL after his appearance for Cameroon at the African Nations Cup. Ref: Mike Riley - quick reappearance for this Leeds- based official, who was in charge at Whaddon Road for our recent FA Cup win over Cheltenham. His only other runout in a Toon game so far this season was the 3-0 victory at Blackburn back in September. He was in charge of our last visit to Villa Park in September 2004 as we lost 4-2 - a defeat that ended Bobby Robson's reign
Isegrim 9901
It's funny what a difference a week can make. I am now really looking forward to games again. I don't expect us to win today, but now I get the feeling that on a good day everything can happen.

Shearergol 0
Villa like playing us though, so it's gonna be harder that I think people imagine. They're weak in midfield, so we can win the game there, but I still think it'll be 1-

Bombadil 0
1502: GOAL. Aston Villa 0-1 Newcastle. The ball is played up to Nolberto Solano who finds Alan Shearer and a one-touch pass to Shola Ameobi sees the young striker slip a shot past Thomas Sorensen. I missed the goal because I was still in the showers. Seem to be playing well though.
