£15m plus £100k a week  Some of the numbers journos were flinging around about this man. £35m plus £200, 300k a week.

Sounds very reasonable, great bit of business by the looks of it.

It’s Digne he’s referring to, I want a written apology off this chicken and wine shagging little bitch as I mentioned we were in for Digne on here fucking YONKS ago. He’s getting a second slap if he mentions Diego Carlos.

£15m including ad-ons. That’s a steal but perhaps the most satisfying thing about the fee is how wrong the chicken and wine king was

Even it's only an agreement between us and Atletico Madrid and the real fee is much higher, I'm all for it. With the exclusive from Diego we know they're party to some interesting approaches....

Big day ahead for Trippier, cos you have to assume he's gonna meet Adam Pearson for the first time.

Little does he know this kid will feature heavily in his nightmares by the end of the week.

New signing not to make his debut as he's got Ebola off him

Wonder if he’ll get a run out on Saturday in the cup or do we think it will be the young’uns and a quick exit.

Sold out btw

I wouldn't mind seeing the young lads play tbh.  This is a season where I couldn't give a fuck if we were knocked out in the 3rd round.

I'll say it again, getting Trippier signed 5 days into the window is the best start we could have hoped for. If we can get in another 2 before Watford (CB and a striker) we are laughing, still think we NEED at least a LB, CB, DM and a striker now to be comfy.

Listening to Chris Waugh on the Athletic Football Podcast today and he was saying 4-6 positions targeted, with lists of targets in place for each of those positions.

He says a lot are targets Steve Nickson had idenfitied during the old regime, but that these have been upgraded to reflect improved financial standing/ambition of the new owners.

Also reckons Trippier was very much Howe's signing, so good that the first player through the door is one the manager wanted (and can't realistically have expected to get given where we are in the league).

Chelsea are apparently very keen too, so I think he's one we'll probably miss out on.

he would be a ridiculous signing. imagine going from ritchie and manquillo to trippier and digne in one window
