I tripped and grazed my leg on Saturday while on a hike that I wouldn't have been on if the government hadn't imposed quarantines that prompted me to cancel my foreign travel plans, so Matt Hancock owes me some antiseptic, a couple of plasters and a tabloid photoshoot. Is that how it works?

When this was first in the news, did you see the footage in Wuhan of citizens being dragged out their abodes and forcibly moved to quarantine centres? That's how they got on top of it and eradicated it. SE Asia have been through this shit before and no how to handle it. And now its eradicated, why would they social distance? NZ held mass gatherings when they were virus free.

What evidence have seen that makes you think this idea is remotely plausible?

You’re playing into the hands of the likes of Trump and Johnson and excusing their incompetence if you think it’s man made. I mean, did the people not really get it in the first place? And are they all immune now? Did certain countries  get the tip off? Like Japan, who the Chinese are historical and regional rivals with? Did they force the US to react to it so badly? Ditto Brazil? And us? It’s far more plausible all three countries are run by incompetent sociopaths. Mind, there was that book by Dean Koontz.

I'm basing it on that they've been the source of two coronaviruses in a short space of time, that they've got on top of it suspiciously quickly and that their biggest economic rivals and said rivals hostile-to-china president have suffered more than anybody. Oh and that the seemingly healthy 30-something doctor that piped up about the virus mysteriously died of it shortly after. He wasn't fat or old. I don't expect there'll be a smoking gun anywhere.

If they had nowt to hide, why the cover-up at the start? And why the underreporting of their case numbers? Almost as if they downplayed the severity because they didn't want others to be prepared for how bad they knew it was.
