It's from this magnificent slice of cultural appropriation: First black performer ever in Eurovision. Not all landmarks are worth remembering. ewerk 30559
The Oxford vaccine is just 70% effective. What’s the point in taking it in the U.K. if better options are available?
Ayatollah Hermione 13860
National pride. I’ll take my chances with 70% and my bulldog spirit will make up the other 30%

NJS 4377
The 70% is the average - they've devised a dosing regime that's 90% effective. Also nobody who got the vaccine and did still get it was seriously ill which is great.
Billy Whitehurst 895
90% is still pretty decent. I’m sure I read that the threshold for approval is 50%. Just give the expensive one to high risk people and give the rest of us the cheap one. Renton seems to be pretty knowledgable on this stuff so hopefully he’ll be able to tell us what it all means. Anyway, light at the end of the tunnel, thank fuck.

What’s the point in taking it in the U.K. if better options are available? It doesn't have to be superfrozen, it can be stored in a conventional fridge. That's a game changer for the third world. The trials were split between the UK & Brazil 0.5 then a full dose apparently gives the 90% figure
ewerk 30559
Have they got enough evidence to verify the 90% figure? I just hope they don’t try and do it on the cheap.

Tom 14011
Personally I think we should postpone Christmas 6 months. Monkeys Fist 42379
When I worked abroad on the activity camps we’d have a “Christmas” piss-up on July 25th-Summer Christmas. No idea where it started but it was a big tradition. The kitchen tent used to do Christmas dinner, there’d be secret Santa, and a tree.
