From what I know down here, unfortunately the fee is as high as it is stated, nothing fishy about it apart from the stupidity.

won't believe that until a genuine and thorough breakdown of hoffenheim's accounts are made public. it makes no sense whatsoever.

ashley/charnley/barnes have managed to piss off french clubs from lille all the way down to montpellier, (zigzaging their way enroute) with their protracted, penny pinching negotiations to such an extent owners/chairmen have threatened to never deal with newcastle again.

they then crossed the border in to the basque region of spain and spent months haggling with eibar for lejeune.

can't be arsed to do any reasearch (memory is failing me a bit) but i wouldn't be in the least surprised to discover our dealings with clubs in belgium and holland have lefr their directors traumatised as well.

then all of a sudden, completely at odds with everything that's gone before and with seemingly with no competition for joelinton's signature we're led to believe ashley has sanctioned a £40m spend on a player whose ability doesn't even come close to warranting it. the fat cunt must've had a life changing summertime visit from the ghost of jacob marley and all the christmas spirits or a fucking severe bang on his repulsive skull.

bizarre and surreal, you couldn't fucking hallucinate it.

Has it always been Rafa’s style to say nowt after leaving a club? The craic about Ashley/Charley or whoever offering Joe for £40m would be quite interesting.

Think there was some talk about a non-disclosure agreement

Hard to fucking argue with this. But what possible dodgy deal could it be? How does Ashley benefit from being out £40m that he won't recoup?

It will only be in the next accounts, but the official stance from Hoffenheim is that it is the biggest transfer money they have received so far, more than Firmino who they sold for 41m Euro.

A dodgy deal would get them in bother with the league (as well as tax authorities) down here, so there is hardly a reason why they should lie about it.

It's typical of Mike Ashley's Newcastle United to spent fuck all for years then obliterate our transfer record on an absolute donkey.

That's a bit unfair, he had one or two not absolutely abysmal games earlier in the season.

Pogba was like 85mill? seeing as 40 mill is twice as much as Ashley had spent on any other fucker It's like Man United spending 170 mill on an untried foreigner :cuppa:

Or Ant giving me a decent amount of server space.
