You know the season is over when MF digs up 9 year old articles. It is a pretty good one though to be fair to him.

Yes, but will it kill Trump?

9 years closer to disaster!

( I’m assuming in the intervening years they’ve got their shit together and made everything rickety-boo? …

… no? Ah well, at least they won’t have any hospital bills when there’s no hospitals  )

Two Australian mathematicians have shown that CT will finally get the hang of this football thing long, long before any monkeys knock out Shakespeare on a typewriter …

It's nice to see the BBC doesn't know the deifference between monkeys and apes either.

It doesn't even appear to solve the problem. It's "a monkey given infinite time could type the works of Shakespeare", and yet they've allowed that monkey a finite amount of time. So the whole thing is moot.

Does time cease to exist when the Universe ends?

If yes, they’ve answered.

If no, fuck ‘em, stupid bloody monkeys.

If time ends, it's not infinite and as the problem relies on time being infinite enforcing any kind of limit, even the heat death of the universe, renders the solution moot.

You can fit infinite elephants inside a field that is infinitely big. You can't the second you put a fence around it, as it immediately ceases to be infinitely big, as you've given it an end.

Also, the article says "Despite its name, the so-called heat death would actually be slow and cold" 1, heat death implies death of heat, not death by heat and 2, is doesn't imply speed of any kind.

Whoever wrote the article is as stupid as the researchers who wasted their finite time by including finite time.

If infinite monkeys had infinite time they still wouldn’t produce anything as sanctimonious as this post.
