Atsu seems to have heartlidge issues, I'd either move Perez out there and start Muto in behind Rondon or give Murphy a start if Muto isn't up to the job.

As for Schar, I doubt he's going to be any better than Clarke and a kid from the academy should be picked before Manquillo because against anyone that can run, he's the walking dead.

Aye, Fernandez will be in before Schaer, I'd imagine. I think he has to start the new lads since Cardiff was a very stale side. We looked a lot fresher with Muto and Murphy on the pitch.

I can't remember the last time I saw Atsu have a good game. I'd start Murphy on the wing.

Atsu looked decent at the start of last season but it was topped off by him nutmegging Zabaleta and shortly crashed after his injury. Kenedy showed how much of an upgrade he is when he came in and I'd say he's been passed by Murphy now as well.

Aye, it’s a mix of injury and bust up reasons everywhere I’ve looked. I’m going to trust that they’re injured for now and that Rafa doesn’t trust the other CBs to play in a pair without Lascelles so he’s playing the 3. It would go against Lascelles attitude the entire time he’s been at Newcastle which is why I’m leaning towards the injury reasoning being more likely.
