For some reason I'd never watched it so had a crack at Requiem for a Dream earlier. Pure shite, turned it off.

Watched Buffalo '66 again after to restore balance and we all lived happily ever after.

Missed a grim double ended dildo scene towards the end mind

Book’s much better

Speaking of books, when you get finished that one about the Medicis could you throw a review up on here?

Aye. Of course, no bother. And feel free to remind me too

Will do.

Last book I read was "You don't have to be mad to work here" by Benji Waterhouse. It's a warts and all account of the first few years of a Psychiatric Dr's experience in the NHS. It's fairly funny and depressing in equal measure. Similar to Adam Kay's book. Went to Uni with the author who's a nice lad and a Newcastle fan to boot.

Benji is not an adult human's name.

I agree, but he doesn't like Ben or Benjamin. He actually speaks about the choice with his therapist, in the book. Essentially a subconscious attempt to cling onto his childhood, or something.

Maybe he was a dog in a past life.

He has a deep seated fear of dogs, as it happens.

Not surprised with a name like that

Gregory's Girl is basically a nonce film.

In the pantheon of great British nonce films, it pales into insignificance compared to Rita Sue and Bob Too.

The window cleaner lad was a bit part. Fucking Claire Grogan though. I still twitch when I think of her in that film. Really captures the zeitgeist and the feeling of being young and hormonal. Love this film.

Full film on YouTube btw. Bullshit window cleaner nonce quote on 44 minutes. ;)

Using my first night alone to watch Kill Bill 1 and 2 double bill, probably for the first time in 10 years. The films themselves are 21 years old now.

They are fucking brilliant though. They just don't make films as good as this nowadays. Tarantino is easily my favourite director even if his work is as rare as rocking horse shit.

Is there a better fight scene in film history than the bride vs the crazy 88? This is insane.

"This is what you get for fucking around with yakuzas. Go home to your mother".
