David Kelly 1260
It's an odd film for sure. All of his other efforts have been clear genre films but I'm not sure this one knows what it wants to be. But I did enjoy it, particularly Pitt and particularly at the end. That Weinstein documentary that was on BBC2 last night was really good. What a horrible cunt he is.
David Kelly 1260
It Chapter 2. Another film that's a good hour too long. It's ok but just like the first part you can spot the jumps coming a mile off. How it's getting five star reviews is beyond me.
Ayatollah Hermione 14053
Why are films so long these days? I understand that, we as a society, have allowed self-indulgence to become rife (The Fish’s posts) but something has to give.

There were whole scenes that were totally pointless - Margot Robbie going and watching her own movie for about 20 minutes and nowt happens. It was toss. I thought the best aspects of the two films were the friendships between the kids. Those bit were a bit like Stand By Me and much more interesting. Watched Booksmart the other night. Billed as a sort of female Superbad. I don't think it was a regularly funny as the likes of Superbad but it did have some really funny stuff in it and was boosted by a cracking Dan The Automator soundtrack. ewerk 31203
Joker - Dark and interesting without being outstanding. I thought Phoenix was decent in it but not sure how he’d do in a sequel as the Joker throughout.

Not sure how I feel about watching a Joker origin story when part of the character's appeal is his mystery.

ewerk 31203
I’d read some bullshit about the violence in the film but it was fairly mild actually.

David Kelly 1260
Enjoyed Joker a lot. I thought it was a bit slow for the first 40 minutes or so but Phoenix was superb. After that it cranks up a notch. More like a cross between Taxi Driver and King of Comedy than any other comic book film that's gone before it. Surely there's been multiple origin stories for the Joker character? Jack Nicholson's version had an origin and the Killing Joke (which I think this film takes some bits from) given an origin to him. The fact that none of these origins taken as the definitive one means you don't really lose any of the mystery,

Even more so because it has a weighty actor in the starring role. Feels an attempt at a canonical telling of his origin, rather than versions of an origin in closed off universe like in Moore's Killing Joke, or Burton's Batman. Burton's Joker was pretty 2D and throw away, Moore's was more rounded but part of a broader story. I anticipate all you cunts being cunts and I think you're all cunts for cunting on like cunts. Monkeys Fist 43067
I feel sorry for Fish Jr. Fish-“ I think the character progression between season 1 and 2 leaves a lot to be desired- what’s the motivation for him to keep returning to the garden, and why does he constantly fall over? Without a canonical origin, we’re just left hangin…” Mrs. Fish-“ It’s Iggle Piggle…Iggle fucking Piggle! “

I thought this felt like a stand alone story personally. The rest of the Batman universe isn't really relevant to it. Bruce Wayne's father is a significant character in this story and there is a scene right near the end that I suppose could lead this on to tying up with Batman but the rest of it could have pretty much taken place within a world completely separate.
ewerk 31203
El Camino - I watched all of BB much against my will because I thought I was missing something that everyone else saw. Come the end it turns out that I wasn’t. This film is much the same. Pretty much a double episode. As usual nothing much happens and there’s very little tension. Absolute bullshit unless you’re one of those wankers who loved every minute of BB.
