Ayatollah Hermione 13873
At the same time as they're being dismissed because they're comics. It's everyone else's fault for pretending The Dark Knight is one of the best movies ever made
The Fish 10857
It's everyone else's fault for pretending The Dark Knight is one of the best movies ever made That's fair. DK is a good movie, a great movie even, but it's not really competing in the same sport as The Godfather, or Shawshank. That doesn't mean it's shit though. Mind you, I find the common criticisms of Superhero movies odd, people wanting soul or gravitas? It's a Comic Book movie. If someone wants a contemplative movie, why are you settling down for a couple of hours to watch a man in a tight fitting suit throw a physics-defying shield at people? Doesn't mean Captain America: Civil War is a bad movie, it's just not your bag. It's certainly ticks all the technical boxes, it's witty in its own way and it's a perfectly fine was for a grown man to spend a few hours of escapism. But it's superheros, so, y'know, it's for kids and that's that. Often I don't want a weighty movie like Tyrannosaur, I want to watch Iron Man. As Chez once said, sometimes you don't want steak, you just fancy a kebab. Well, I fancy these kebabs quite often. Also Mark Kermode likes them, so stick that up your Scarlet Witch. Happy Face 29
Any Korean films anyone can recommend, BTW? (Preferably on VHS if that's OK?) VHS? Don't get that, but anyway... Agree on Oldboy, if you've not seen it, you should. It's one of a loose Trilogy based on revenge though, so you could start with Sympathy For Mr Vengeance and finish with Lady Vengeance by the same writer/director. Of his other films, the only one I would recommend is JSA (Joint security Area) which looks at a military incident on the North/South divide. Memories of Murder got mixed reviews on here. Think I found it a bit too slow, but the writer Director went on to make The Host, a Godzilla style monster movie which was much more fun. Brotherhood is a good (if far fetched) North/South war film. Oldboy and Lady Vengence are both excellent films. I've still not got round to watching Mr Vengence (which I think I might have bought off you). I started watching Memories of Murder and was really enjoying it but never got round to finishing it. I'll have to give it another go. The Host is really good too. Keep meaning to watch JSA too. Dr Gloom 21924
look, if anyone is going to have the piss taken out of them for how they unwind, it really ought to be the 37 year old hoverboarder
Rayvin 5223
I think we've done the hoverboarding thing to death Although it's still your avatar pic which is noteworthy in and of itself. I'm not massively fussed on superhero films although I did enjoy the dark knight. They're all too formulaic for me these days. In the absence of Hollywood coming out with anything better though, what choice do we have? EDIT - not that I'm in a position to judge anyone given that I still enjoy the odd anime Edited July 27, 2016 by Rayvin

David Kelly 1245
Jason Bourne. Another good entry in the series. It's all a formulaic I suppose but they do it well. The scene in Athens was excellent. Still think Identity is the best one they've done mind.

Have you read the books? Probably the most important American novels of the last 40 years.
