Christmas Tree 4858
"Hi there! Welcome to the CT film review! Well today I was watching 'Spectre', the new Bond film, the song was ok but not as good as Bassey and the opening scene was disappointing so I went for a tab, but being me I called it a 'fag'. I then posted on TT about the film so far and about my 'fag' break. The next ten minutes also lacked some action and the wifey in it wasn't that smart to be honest, (she was no Denise Welch), so I went outside for another 'fag' and also posted about that. I then went back to watch the film but remembered a scene from Corraz where Denise also smoked a 'fag' and I couldn't help thinking that her smoking a 'fag' was her piping me off! Sure there's been better fantasies such as me thinking Mike was a football genius but as fantasies go it wasn't that bad, so with that in mind I went up to the bathroom and knocked one out. I then had another 'fag' before heading downstairs to watch the rest of the film. I watched the next ten minutes before giving up." Christmas Tree 4858
Revenant No dances with Wolves, bit to many drawn out dreamy scenes, far too long but areet. 7/

Howmanheyman 33965
Hateful eight. I quite enjoyed the usually sharp dialogue you get with squashy face's films but the ending was a bit average. It wasn't bad.
Gemmill 46205
I enjoyed it. 7/10. Preferred The Revenant despite Tom Hardy being utterly unintelligible again.
Holden McGroin 6802
The Revenant. Beautifully shot. Some of the settings were incredible. However I found it a bit too slow paced for me. Typical Oscar film. 6.5 / 10 I will never watch it again.
David Kelly 1260
Hatefull Eight. Tarantino was hoping for it to be his The Good The Bad & The Ugly but whereas that film never drags for a second, I found this a bit dull when they first got to Minnie's. But it got going again and overall I enjoyed it. Thought it was better than The Revenant.

It's good but no Trainspotting. Can imagine it would make a good film though as it has a stronger narrative. Think they've left it a bit long as well though. The characters are supposed to be approaching middle age in the book iirc. Carlyle is 54 now though so getting long in the tooth for this.

I have read Porno, that was set 10 years after Trainspotting the book, this is set in our time now, 20 years later and rumour has it Begbie has calmed down a bit. Happy Face 29
Under The Skin. Just fantastic. Score is phenomenal and directing is stunning. So unapologetically warped and fucked up. There is a scene on a beach that is brutal. You will never have a one night stand again. Taped it off film 4 over christmas. Came downstairs with the baby at 1am and thought i'd put it on for ten minutes till he settled. Ended up watching all 2 hours. Thought it was brilliant. Was sad to see so many negative comments on here when I searched. Happy to find this one solitary endorsement. Agree about the beach, especially watching it holding a baby Watched The Road this afternoon. Average.
Howay 12496
The Revenant. Beautifully shot. Some of the settings were incredible. However I found it a bit too slow paced for me. Typical Oscar film. 6.5 / 10 I will never watch it again. Watched it last night and thought the same, I understand how difficult a lot of the scenes were to shoot and how well acted etc it all was but it still wasn't particularly entertaining to watch. Hardy, Di Caprio and that Domnhall Gleeson were all good in it but the film didn't live up to all its hype for me. I also thought Birdman was utter bilge so Inarritu will be upset to know he's on thin ice with me now.
