BlueStar 0
Should maybe elaborate a bit, I don't think they mean him to come across as a bellend - at least not in the way he does. I could be wrong, but it seemed like when they were trying to make him masculine he just seemed like a spoilt, arrogant womanizer, when he was supposed to be sensitive and caring he came across like a whiney self-pitying littlle girl and when he was supposed to be deep and meaningful he just sounded like a pretentious wazzock. And the different ways he seemed like a bellend from scene to scene didn't give the impression of many facets of a complex personality, but more like he was just a disjointed and badly fleshed out character. I'm not the kind of person who automatically slates new hyped films, but it just didn't do much for me and dragged on. It wasn't awful, just... meh. luckyluke 2
From what I've seen of the adverts, the effects look fucking shit as well.
BlueStar 0
Yeah, the effects were nowt special, but then he didn't really use his powers very much so there wasn't much call for them. There's a sort of twist thing which will make you cringe and leaves the way open for an awful sequel. Oh, and he does an almost carbon copy of The Hulks bounding across the landscape thingy right at the start Edited July 12, 2006 by BlueStar
The Fish 10963
got to say in the clip that's in the trailers where he clearly drops from a great height and lands in a cave I'd prefer for them to have the actual actor jump off a ledge out of camera and land, then add sound effects and camera shake, even putting a polystyrene slab for him to crack as he lands because the CGI is so fucking blatant it's painful... the polystyrene is obvious a laymans suggestion but the excessive use of computer effects really ruins films, which is why I was glad of very little being used in the first Xmen film
Holden McGroin 6783
Se7en. Classic. Brad Pitt is a bit pants but Spacey is quality as the serial killer. Ending is superb as well.

Guest stevieintoon
I've just watched my favourite film today for the 2000th time and the sad thing is I never get bored of it. There's only one Francis Begbie. Bring on Trainspotting 2 (Porno) next year, when Begbie's got two kids one hard and one soft as shite, he loves the hard one and hates the soft one. Not his worst performance but just not as good as I remember.

Tough work translating....... 158946[/snapback] You've got to think in Scottish, just but drink half a bottle of whisky and it will become more apparent. When I first read Trainspotting over 10 years ago, it took me two days just to work out what "likesay" was which is the "the likes of" - "likesay mikey forrester he's a wee stauner a hink he needs daein en" it takes lot of getting used to the written style of Welsh's books, but as soon as you start thinking in Scottish it's fine. Kid Dynamite 7169
Pirates of the caribbean 2 - I only got back from ibiza yesterday morning so a 3 hour film last night probably wasnt the best choice. It was ok but i was waiting for it to end after 90minutes and even then it leaves huuuuge plot holes to make a 3rd film.

sweetleftpeg 0
I found Welsh's books to be fairly easy to read, although I can imagine it's like reading a foreign language book the further south you get. Glue especially.

Kid Dynamite 7169
Watched Nacho Libre for the 2nd time, still not feeling it. They are trying to recreate the success of napoleon dynamite but the whole reason ND was a success is cos no-one had heard of it and it received no publicity. Nacho Libre has a huge marketing campaign and so everyone is expecting a more mainstream film and it isnt. The same happened with dogma. Id already seen chasing amy, mallrats and clerks so knew what to expect but half of the cinema came out mumbling how shite the film was

Kid Dynamite 7169
I mean quality in that they want classic films remade with ridiculous characters. The above thread being a perfect example
