Holden McGroin 6785
Im off to watch Predators and Inception this week. Predator and Alien/Aliens have to be up there in my all time fav movies so im rather wet about Predators. Chris Nolan hasnt made a bad movie yet either so Inception is looking good. Saw Predators the other night and quite enjoyed it. It has a feel of the first one with the Jungle setting and enough new ideas to keep you entertained. That said it is very predictable (you could virtually pick the sequence in which each person would die and which would be left at the end) and not in the same league as the original (although I suppose if you saw this one first you might disagree). Million miles better then the fucking shambles that was the AVP films though. AVPs were wank. Mega wank. I think Ridley Scott is doing a new Aliens movie as well (set before Alien). Should be good. Andrew 4859
Watched the Book of Eli earlier today enjoyed it, had a couple of decent ones this week with it and greenzone as for BoE I thought it was pretty good, had a great look to it (reminded me of fallout 3)
The Fish 10971
Rampage and Uwe Boll film. Fairly entertaining, the inital sequences are a little frustrating, but I understand why they were shot like that. Seems to be just an excuse to explore a violent fantasy iyam
Guest Gordon McKeag
Watched Invictus last night, really decent show, I would've liked to have see more examples of the conflict between black and whites leading up to the RWC, but Morgan Freeman was brilliant as Mandela. Was canny pissed watching it, thinking di Caprio has just delivered one of his best ever performances playing Francois Pienaar, turned oot it was Matt Damon. Beer + films = nar. Good film though, I'd give it 8/10, even though the actual rugby play in it was so piss poor, at the kick off they just passed the ball 10 yards to the other team. Did you see that match in the world cup when Dicaprio was in the crowd (think it was Holland Uruguay)? Gemmill 46037
Twilight Eclipse. Now I only went to see this cos she wanted to, and I fully anticipated it being shit, but nothing - NOTHING - can prepare you for just how bad this film is. Hands down the worst film I've ever gone to the cinema to watch. About 40 minutes of the film is just that fucking twat vampire and that twisty faced bitch sat saying nowt to one another. And this has nowt to do with how shit the movie is but aren't vampires meant to have fangs, and have to stay out of the sun. Not fucking these ones. Wandering around in broad daylight, pale as fuck, looking miserable. The only thing that separates them from goths is they can run fast.

Wavey Davey 0
500 Days of Summer. Not bad. Tries to be a bit 'indie' at the beginning but gets well into its stride. Canny soundtrack.
Holden McGroin 6785
Predators. Best movie involving a predator since Predator 1. Still, pretty standard though. Anyone seen Inception yet? I reckon i'll do another Orange Wed on that.

NJS 4411
Babylon AD One of those infinitely frustrating films where the premise is interesting but the result is extremely disappointing given that premise.
Happy Face 29
Nanny Mcphee - Loved it. Very pertinent in the present political climate. Meet Me In St Louis - Not much of a story but some classic tunes. Enjoyed it. West Side Story - Disappointing. Was expecting a classic. The gangs are gayer than a John Barrowman appearance on Graham Norton.

Agreed on all counts Spoilers Loved the sequence when the van was rolling and he was fighting the 2 security guys in the hallway as the gravity was going crazy and the top was falling

Happy Face 29
Synecdoche, New York massively long drawn out... Can't believe they sold this as the funniest film of the year. The marketing department must love pissing people off. It's the darkest of all Kaufman's screenplays. I think I'll be depressed for a month having watched it this afternoon. Amazing stuff though, can't wait to watch it again. One of those films that'll be even better second time around. Reminded me of the Flaming Lips song - Do You Realize? There are a few laughs in it too. Glad I watched it before Inception which is getting compared to it a bit.

We watched Meet Me In St Louis on Friday night before going to bed at 10.30pm and it didn't pass without comment how much more enjoyable it was than standing in a 5 person deep scrum in a bar.
