I'm with you Brock.

I'm struggling to think of a drug film I've liked. Fear and Loathing, Requiem For a Dream, Easy Rider...I find them all canny dull. Probably need to raise my drug intake.

Easy Rider is class imo. The other two are a bit dull though. Hunter S Thompson's books were dull too imo. I took this, then I took that type of thing. Boring regardless of your drug intake ;)

Had a bit of a John Carpenter marathon recently, forgot how many decent films he made.

Big Trouble in Little China

Prince of darkness

They Live

The thing

The Fog

All slightly cheesy in one way or another but imho are cult classics. Also watched PI again recently, good film I reckon! Although the only other Aronofsky film I've seen was Requiem for a Dream which was pretty meh despite all the hype surrounding it.

In The Valley Of Elah. Another top notch performance from Tommy Lee Jones with a strong supporting cast too (although Susan Sarrandon was a bit underused). It's an interesting look at how being over in Iraq can effect young soldiers as well as being a good dectective story.

Dead Reckoning. Pretty much forgotten Borgart film noir that covers all of the bases for the genre (voice over, femme fetale, numerous twists etc) and ends up with a similar feel the The Maltese Falcon (though naturally not as brilliant as that film). Very good and should be recognised along with the other classic noirs.

Son of Rambow, Fucking Ace!!!

I think it helped that its set around the same time I was kid but I could identify with so many different things in it. Really good British film, just a shame so much of the humour is english so it wont reach the wider audience it deserves
