Guest alex
The Third Man. never liked it That's alreet man. Better than pretending you do because it's a 'classic'. I do like it though. Obviously it's a bit dated.
Happy Face 29
Scott Walker 30 Century Man Like many people the Scott Walker phenomenon passed me by completeley until I heard The Drift a couple of years back which I quite liked. I've not delved any further than that one album though. Coming from that angle, what struck me about this film was the fawning hyperbole hoyed about by people like Damon Albarn and Sting, people with seemingly no critical barometer whatsoever who view Walker as a genius for punching slabs of meat for his beat, or moving bins on a surface for his tune, but deride the likes of Yes and Genesis for their pomp, one talking head going so far as to put their fingers down their throat to display vast disgust at such uninspiring drivell. The fact that Walker's currently fashionable doesn't stop Marc Almond providing the films highlight when he pricks everyone's self congratulatory balloon by voicing his opinion that Tilt was "shit". There's also a marvellous moment when they play Lulu a more recent track and without a word you can see she thinks it's a hideous din. Having obviously not heard any of his stuff since he left the charts in the sixties she looks stunned by it. All credit to Walker though, he comes out of it all as an affable bloke struggling with his own creativity but following his own path with a great sense of humour, quite far from the reclusive nature I'd read about. Craig 6700
Over Christmas I've seen.... Mr Magoriums Wonder Emporium - shite! Golden Compass - Awesome effects but the shower of bastards have left it hanging for the next installment more than any other trilogy released since BTTF! I Am Legend - Superb Finding Neverland - Surpisingly good On The Buses Holiday Special - gets better every time I see it
Southern Geordie 1
I am legend Fucken shite ! Did you watch it at the cinema, just out of curiosity? I went yesterday and was good, but seems they really have tweaked the book to fit in with Will Smith's hollywood persona. Still, a good film. Fairly jumpy too at times

Fairly jumpy too at times No I didn't but I just thought it was very dull and boring, I thought Omega Man and 28 Days later were better but its always going to be dificult to make a film about a man going mad through loneliness entertaining, also felt the ending was a massive anti-climax. Southern Geordie 1
Yeah, I did think that the first half of the film was class, the second half was average at best, so made a good film I thought.

Happy Face 29
Went to see 'Sunshine' last night. My advice, don't bother. Utter, utter shit. 2/10 Not THAT bad, but canny shite. What I found incredicle was the cavalcade of international crew members that were knocked off one by one to leave only the white crew for the final reel. Was that intentional? Was it meant to be taking the piss out of the B-movie convention? Because it was otherwise very earnest. Otherwise I thought it was acceptable until the unknown crew mwmber arrived and it went drastically down hill in terms of creditability as well as story telling which became as confused as hell. Guest stevieintoon
Watched Outlaw, and I was disappointed to be honest. The only decent performance in it was from Danny Dyer, and the story line was shite as well.
