sammynb 3342
Vertigo - Overall a good film but I thought the love/relationship was a bit contrived. Two things to take from the film: 1. Kim Novak was absolutely stunning. 2. James Stewart's character has to be the worst tail ever. Get behind thee Satan! JawD 99
Seen Shrek 3 last weeked and I thought it was canny. I had low expectations for it which maybe helped. Much of the same but funny non the less. This weekend I seen the new Harry Potter. Again much of the same. Wasnt fantastic or anything but if you like the others you'd probably like this. Seemed to be a fair bit missed out from the book like. De Ja Vu - I watched last night on sky. Densel Washington. Usual good performance by him in what was a bit of a brain melter of a plot. Involves bending and manipulating time which always leads to a paradox in my head.
Jusoda Kid 1
De Ja Vu - Spot on I thought, in fact the last few films I've seen with him out of Only fools and horses in have been spot on
Renton 21056
Hot Fuzz. Quite funny but not as good as SOTD and a bit too long. Thought Hot Fuzz was much better than SOTD personally.
Happy Face 29
The rental DVD I had with The Child on was broke, didn't realise until an hour in when it knacked up. Downloaded it to watch the end, but can't get the .sub file to show subtitles when playing the .avi file. Anyone know how? It was getting quite engrossing when it juddered to a halt. Quite the opposite from my point of view. I enjoyed it though. My main gripe was it was about 20 minutes too long. Not that it was that long, it just dragged a bit at the end. And I thought 'Shaun of the Dead' was funnier.

Worked it out myself. It was the .srt file that worked in VLC. Very good film in the end. The child of the title isn't actually the child, but the father who avoids his responsibilities. aaahh. aaaah, aaaahh [/fist of fun]
Gemmill 44114
Hot Fuzz. Quite funny but not as good as SOTD and a bit too long. Thought Hot Fuzz was much better than SOTD personally. I thought Hot Fuzz was just alright personally - wasn't all that funny, and alex is right, it went on too long. SOTD was better. Saw Die Hard 4.0 at the weekend. Bruce is nails, and it was good summer blockbuster fare. Obviously the odd ludicrously unbelievable stunt thrown in there (two in particular), but good stuff. Re-watched the Bourne Identity as well in anticipation of the Bourne Ultimatum coming out soon.

Yes, I know that was the point, but the truth is it was similar to a lot of zombie films, even if others weren't intended as outright spoofs. I'd agree the first half of Hot Fuzz was best though, I found the whole taking the piss out of rural folk funny.
