Mary Poppins 10/10

Surely has to be one of the greatest films of all time. Quite amazing how nearly 50 years ago they managed to blend real life and animation and make it look so good.

Even now the seen with Uncle Albert and the laughing song has me in bits.

"I'd like to replace your cat"

"Thats very kind, but how are you at catching mice". :gay::icon_lol::):no:lol:

*scene* ;)

Btw CT, reading the last few pages here, do you have periods too , you bloody massive woman?

:gay:

Well, he is a cunt ;)

Rambo (the latest one)

Entertaining enough for a thumbs up. I find Stallone's schtick amusing, and I had heard there was a terrific body-count in this movie - it didn't disappoint on that front. The plot is so threadbare it's laughable, but it's a mindless action romp, so that's not a major problem.

The Blind Side

A dunce of a hulking black dude makes more of his life under the tutelage of white folk. For a moment near the end he thinks for himself, just for a minute, and ends up at a crack den in the hood, drinking booze and damn near killing several ladies, gentlemen and children. Fortunately the white folk rescue him from his black tendencies and he lives happily ever after.

True story apparently.

I rather enjoyed it to be fair.

Now then, a bit of a mixed bag over the past two days.

POTC 4, yesterda. Not bad. 8/10.

However, the real eye opener is that I sat and watched 'Step Up 3' on Saturday night :icon_lol::):no Complete tosh with a hogwash storyline, but I just love the street dancing bits  Glad the Pirates beat the Samurai though :gay:

The Child Catcher still scares the shit out of me…

"Sweeeeties, Chiiildren"

Wrongun.

Played by Paul Wyn in the stage version, I believe.

X-Men First Class is mint. January Jones spends most of it with her baps on show and Magneto crushes someone with the side of a submarine. Two things that make it an easy recommendation.

Interview with the director

What was it like showing the film to his family?

That was the most emotional screening. It was exactly a year ago. We'd finished the cut about this time last year. Bruno Senna [Ayrton's nephew] was racing in F1 that year and he was living in Monaco. So, the family were coming over for the Monaco Grand Prix. And it was during Cannes. So, we flew over to Cannes, hired a cinema in the middle of the day, and put on a screening for about fifteen members of the family. And it was just unbearable.

It was the first time we were showing the film to the family, and even when he was winning, even when there are scenes that normally, in a theatre, get a laugh, there were sobs in the room. And it was just unbearable. And then the lights come up at the ending and you kind of look around and everyone's in floods of teams. But then Viviane stood up and hugged us all and just went, "You got it right."

Thought the Senna film would be getting a bigger release than it is. Only seems to be on for the odd day here and there.

Is that not because F1 is A: dull as ditchwater with all races pretty much decided at the grid trials and B: morally corrupt what with wanting to hold a race in a country killing it's own people because they have the temerity to ask for the vote? ;-)

A documentary about a bloke who died getting on for 20 years ago is bound to have limited appeal at the box office.

It's started so well that it's being rolled out in more cinemas from next week, so keep your eyes peeled. It was never going to be a multiscreen blockbuster, but apparently it's done very well for a documentary.

EDIT: Next "cinema week" that is, i.e. from this weekend.
