Jimbo 172
The usual suspects Great actors, great performances, original story with an awesome twist, but some how it manages to be rather dull in my opinion.

Brock Manson 0
The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas Thought it was very good. Admittedly it suffers as it draws comparisons to Schindler's List, but all the same a very moving and powerful story. The girlfriend cried at the end. 8/10 Eagle Eye Very i,Robot - esque. Thought it was ok, and Shia Lebouef was good in it. A little lacking in plot depth though. Better than Deja Vu, which was a similar sort of film. 6/10 10 Things I Hate About You Heath Ledger was brilliant in it, and it's a nice light-hearted movie to watch on a night in. 8/
Happy Face 29
A Matter of Life and Death I normally love Powell and Presburger but this one wasn't as good as the best film polls had me hoping. It started filming on the very day hostilities ended in WW2, and the UK/US love in that it descentds into got a bit treacly for me. Shame really because I was well into the bargaining for his life, is he a mentalist or not stuff.

donaldstott 0
Burn after Reading - I really enjoyed it.. I didn't think it was possible (if you have a penis) but I really like George Clooney and Brad Pitt, they are both becoming very good comedy actors. Eastern Promises - Not quite as hideous as a History of Violence but nevertheless enough for me to make a promise never to see another David Cronenburg movie again. The Russian sweatroom scene is a modern day cinema classic.

Jill 0
[REC] Thought it was alright, I quite like that sort of format for a film. It was made much scarier though by the fact that my upstairs neighbour was making some creepy noises throughout.

I was getting worried after HF's post there as I just got this as a double set with Colonel Blimp (class) but you've eased my fears Alex. Angel Face. Excellent noir from Otto Preminger with Jean Simmons (no not the bloke from Kiss) and the brilliant Robert Mitchum. Possibly Mitchums best in the genre after Out Of The Past. Happy Face 29
Nixon Love owt like this me. Amazing that it never made it's money back at the cinema. It's almost up there with All The Presidents Men. Gave me a whole new appreciation for the man without letting him off with what he did. Paul Sorvino is immense in it too. Kissinger might be one of history's monsters, but I loved Sorvino's wounded puppy when Nixon has a pop at him. Had to hoy on Oliver Stone's other presidential classic JFK on afterwards. One of my all time favourite films. The paranoia it evokes is so incredible, when I watch it I worry about being targeted by the feds for being in on the secret . A good warm up for watching W. David Kelly 1217
Cars. Not as good as Pixar's best but still a cracking kids film (even if it is just an animated Doc Hollywood). Requiem For A Dream. So bleak it makes Trainspotting look like Dazed & Confused. It's not without its flaws most notably in terms of plot (how was Jared Leto allowed to leave hostpital apparently without treatment, why would drug dealers only deal for sex not cash?) but a decent film all the same. luckyluke 2
Sicko. Despite Moore's usual one-eyed methods of film making, and how we all know that it has serious flaws and could be a lot, lot better, I fucking love the NHS. And Tony Benn. Tooj 17
Burn After Reading. Pretty half-arsed effort if I'm being honest. Brad Pitt stole the show though, was howling everytime he was on screen.

The Fish 10672
Forbidden Kingdom - average Adventure film, would recommend only for kids under 15 to be honest. Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I guess it's supposed to fall in somewhere between the 5th and 6th films for kids, but it didn't really do any great story telling. Just another Lucasart project to rake in cash from fanboys. I'm running pretty low on film ideas as you can tell... what's been released to DVD lately that's any good?
