I'm sure we did this before and realised he's hardly been in a bad film, or was that in the pub? Wild at Heart.

I know you aren't a fan like. Changing the subject, I just want to post this somewhere... Spanish actress Penelope Cruz stars as the wife of a flamboyant painter (Javier Bardem) in Woody Allen's latest romantic comedy, Vicky Cristina Barcelona. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_depth/entert...008/default.stm
Guest alex
Aye, I heard about that a couple of weeks ago. I love Penelope Cruz, I must say. The only slight reservation I have is that she seems a much better actress in her native tongue. I might have to give 'Raising Arizona' another airing at some point I reckon. Holden McGroin 6471
A Cage film = a turkey in this moment of time. Ghost Rider The Wicker Man (Absolute tripe) World Trade Center Lord of War I wouldn't say Next stood out alot.... To name just a few of his recents. National Treasure also got slated but I thought it was harmless fun.
Walliver 0
Just saw A Scanner Darkly, loved it. The animation style was brilliant - I don't watch many cartoons aimed at adults but I was very impressed.

Not far away from my view of them really. They've done a few class films though imo.

My dad is a massive fan, I've seen most of their films. They're quite good, and O Brother is one of my favourite films, but they're definitely overhyped to an extent. Never saw what was so earth shatteringly great about Fargo, or *whispers* The Big Lebowski. Although I enjoyed No Country For Old Men, it was textbook Cohen - quirky characters, botched crime, smart dialog, abrupt and somewhat unsatisfying ending. Guest alex
The ending's the same as the book though, I think. I preferred TBL and Fargo to OBWAT like, although I thought that was decent. I really liked Miller's Crossing and I thought Barton Fink was class although it's years since I've seen the latter. And I'm still not sure if Parky was winding me up about 'Blood Simple'. Howay 12496
Doomsday - Mad max-esque I enjoyed it, made by that Geordie director who made Dog soldiers he done well for what I think is another lower budget film I think he's meant to be getting a bigger budget for his next one.
