I always used to hate Michael whenever I first watched The Godfather, Pacino was class. But I just thought Michael was a wanker and a shit don compared to Vito. :)

The Assassination of Jesse James.

A slow burner shall we say, but I thought it was class. Some lovely cinematography and if you've got the patience I definitely recommend a viewing.

it's all part and parcel of it. :)

but this was with some of my contemporaries, who share the same taste as me, so I found it a little puzzling...

just watched The Cook, The Thief, His Wife And Her Lover

not sure what to make of it. although i'm not really convinced of Peter Greenway as a director.

The cook like Pospero's books is Greenaway just giving his audience a little sophisticated t & a.

Can I point you in the direction of this post?

The Godfather II. I won't talk about it though.

He's got some nerve for a noob like. :)

I know. Mind, if he's doing film studies he's probably done it to death.

too right.

they are wonderful films don't get me wrong. it's just you get over-saturated with discussion about some things. Citizen Kane also falls into this category.

The only time that gets a mention around here is in when people say "...it's hardly Citizen Kane".

Citizen Kane is fascinating for the ground-breaking techniques etc but it's not the sort of film I could watch time and again.
