luckyluke 2
The MatrixMatrix Reloaded Matrix Revolutions the latter suffer for their hype and the success of the former. The latter suffer for being utter fucking abortions of films that should never have been considered, much less produced.

The Fish 10674
yeah, again nice concepts, but weren't produced to a high enough standard for my liking.
Jimbo 172
yeah, again nice concepts, but weren't produced to a high enough standard for my liking. That's what I thought too, I thought the The Second Renaissance part was very good, it gave more detail to the backstory but as you say was too under produced to get excited about, a missed opportunity. They put Persepolis up instead though, cue a best animation nod that it would have gotten anyway and nothing for the French in the best foreign film category. SloopJohn 0
i thought diving bell was pretty good. the cinematography was fantastic, and the director nomination was definitely warranted. but i felt it lacked it real emotional depth and didn't really move me in any way. in fact, it was funnier and less dramatic than i expected. which was odd. but the beach scene was gorgeous. i just wanted more power you know? It was really funny. I was in floods though. Certainly moved me. I had my big headphones on and in that first 20 minutes from his POV, his breathing and heartbeat felt like they were mine. Really put me in the film.
SloopJohn 0
each to their own. i did see it in quite a busy cinema (Notting Hill Gate) so that may of detracted from my immersion in the text, but I still think I would of found it a little forgettable. Happy Face 29
now i'm truly lost. anyway. what was the deal with this parker guy and how did you suss out he was bluffing his taste? He said Blood Simple was the Coen's best film with gorgeous black and white cinematography so we pulled him up on it actually being in colour. He's a good lad really and his film (and other) chat is informed. He's just never going to (be allowed to) get over that. I presumed you were an alter ego so he could actually post in the film thread again without being pulled up on it....and I'm still not fully convinced you aren't. Sounds shite like I fail to see how Darabont doing King (in an adaptational (possibly a made up word) sense) can be bad but I'll find out shortly. And I just noticed your coments about Millers Crossing Wacky. You want shot with shit for that mate, it's an absolute classic.

Guest alex
The Big Sleep (the original one). Seen it before like but it's still class. Much like the book the plot is pretty complicated, almost to ridiculous levels at times but it all fits together nicely the end. I tried watching it the night before but fell asleep. OMG LOL!!!!!
