The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,

Slow burning epic from the director of Chopper. If I hadn't watched it within 24 hours of watching There Will Be Blood (twice) I'm sure I'd be salivating all over it.

Funny Games

The original 1998 version. Canny little piss take of how a horror/thriller works. Little to get excited about though when the writer/director is looking down his nose so much at the genre he's working in.

There Will Be Blood.

Very very impressed, although I thought it lost itself a bit towards the end if I'm being honest. Day-Lewis has been gaining all the applauds and rightly so, absolute fantastic piece of acting all the way through out the film, delivering in only a way he can. Great to see the torments of his character all of the way through the film. Beautifully shot as well might I add. A special mention as well to Paul Dano as well who I thought was absolutely fantastic during his appearances. Had me gripped all the way through, I'd definitely recommend.

Really?

I think it's one of the all time great endings. Line after line of dialogue in those last few scenes are going to be up there with the likes of "Here's Johnny!" and "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." especially the last line.

Crash - Can't remember if I liked this film first time round, seemed like the sort of thing I wouldn't like but it was on last night and I thought it was excellent this time round.

The racialism one or the car crash sex one?

The racialist one, though I imagine the car sex one may be worth ten minute's viewing as well.

 The other one, based on the Ballard book is ok too like. I liked the one you're on about though. It was a bit heavy-handed at times like.

Run Fatboy Run.

Meh, 6/10. Utterly forgettable.

I like David Schwimmer. I always found the episodes of Friends he directed quality. Thought he would do a tad better.

That scene with the little girl, that I won't spoil by describing further, always makes me choke up a bit...

probably up there with my favourite films of all time.

Not one for bubbling at films but that scene nearly got me.

Naked - Bleak, gritty british film about a rapist from Manchester hiding with friends in London 8/10

Vantage Point-

well strung together, quite enjoyable but at no time could I give a crap about any of the characters.

Just reminded myself it was only a film (i.e. not real life) and the emotion passed, should try it some time

Nah, don't you wait till dark and turn off all the lights to be scared by a horror? When a film is working you don't want to take yourself out of the moment, you want to go with it man.

There Will Be Blood - Very disapointing tbh. Seemed to be a lot about nothing, I kept waiting for more tension building between Day Lewis and Paul Dano (who I thought was excellent) but not much seemed to happen.

I'm not convinced with Daniel Day Lewis either, he seems to overact in the same way Pacino does at his worst.

I will admit to it being a fairly poor copy though so I think I will try and give it another chance when it comes out on dvd.

Michael Clayton

Not too shabby. Taut for the most part, but you can see the traditional ending come from a mile off. Tilda Swinton getting best supporting actress is a disgrace like. She was canny, but not a patch on Cate Blanchette in I'm Not There.
