Happy Face 29
Cinema Paradiso http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095765/ Stunning. Directors cut or normal version? The Directors one was a bit too much for me. Wish I'd seen the shorter one first because even after three hours the ending was a fantastic moment, I just would have preferred a more succint build up to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEFugVbzsSo

Tooj 17
The King Of Comedy. The film and both De Niro's performance are both hugely overlooked by many, De Niro plays the role so well, utter cringe worthy at times, which is how exactly it was meant to be. Guest alex
A lot of people on here seem to think it's cool to hang out of the Coen bros arses for some strange reason If I didn't like their films, I'd say so though. I thought Raising Arizona was pretty shite.

Tooj 17
The Man Who Wasn't There. As brilliant as the last time I watched it. Wacky will disagree like.
Guest alex
Sunshine - It was canny. I thought it was visually stunning in places and had some good ideas. Obviously borrowed heavily from stuff like Alien and Event Horizon. The last 20 minutes or so just seemed to be a letdown though, with the tension that had previously been built just ebbing away. Not Danny Boyle's best film by a long chalk.

David Kelly 1260
A lot of people on here seem to think it's cool to hang out of the Coen bros arses for some strange reason Millers Crossing, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Art Thou and Barton Fink are all class but I haven't really got into Blood Simple, Raising Arizona or The Man Who Wasn't there. They aren't infallible but they have produced some outstating efforts and I can't wait to see No Country For Old Men.

Jimbo 175
Beowulf Brilliant ! wasn't expecting to enjoy it at all after hearing of the bastardisation of the story and having Ray Winston provide a Cockerny barrowboy accent, but I was really pleasantly surprised. Guest alex
'Nine Queens' - No it isn't gay porn. Argentine film about a couple of con men working the streets of Buenos Aires. Excellent, clever 'sting' movie.

Happy Face 29
Feel Like Going Home - Martin Scorsese's part of Peter Guralnick's The Blues documentary series. Looks at the roots of Blues, not just in the US but back to it's African origins. canny.
Tooj 17
The Pusher. The first one of the trilogy. A film set in the Danish underwold about a dealer who gets way over his head with some not very nice Serbians. Absolutely cracking film, I'd really recommend. Cheers Alex.
