Fight Club- never fails to impress

The book's better :crylaughin: (It is btw. I do like the fillum too though).

Watched 'A Room for Romeo Brass' last night and I have to say I absolutely loved it. Heard a lot about Shane Meadows' films without having seen one and I'll be checking them all out after this. It's one of those dark, gritty British films that has a good mix of (black) humour and poignant nostalgia which makes you sad and want to laugh at the same time. More than a little bit of Mike Leigh about it too. Which is no bad thing.

if you liked that, check out dead man's shoes

Yeah cheers mate, it's about number 4 on my Amazon list after last night.

Quality film. Paddy Considine is hilarious in some of those scenes and the pathos is done with sincerity so it never detracts from the humour.

I think Shane Meadows pops up in a couple of cameos actually iirc.

He's serving in the chip shop apparently.

Watched Crank the other week with Jason Statham, found it funny as fuck. And Amy Smart looks smart as fuck in it.

It's like a comedy

Aye, some quality bits in like. I wouldn't mind having a go of Amy Smart in the middle of the street if it meant keeping me alive.

Hot Fuzz

An over rated grotesque Simon Pegg ego-trip, utterly unfunny too.

Pegg and his fat mate come across as arrogant tossers on the DVD extras. Sending texts while being interviewed and that. Canny film I thought though.

Good film, but going to suffer from the holier than thou opinions of people who like to shoot down anything or anyone that gains any commercial success.

I like loads of commercially successful films like. Just not this one

He is right to an extent though as soon as any English person does well worlwide or particularly in the USA then what usually follows is a load of stick, accuastions of arrogance and anything they do afterwards is never as good! Same happened with Ricky Gervais.

I'm a fan of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the dead and Simon Pegg who's a top comedy performer from his films, to thins like Spaced, Big Train and various other comedies he's appeared in, and he seems like a decent down to earth bloke to me, and like Edgar Wright a massive geek!

For the record, I hate Ricky Gervais because he's a horrible unfunny twat with stand up that is offensive for the sake of it and writes shit sitcoms. And that Simpsons episode.

Saying that, I quite liked The Office.
