Worth viewing on dvd, but having to pay £6.80 to see this was a real insult!! No wonder the cinema in the Gate looked empty at those prices! The dark is rising was good(ish) till the end which was a rather fizzled attempt, overall i rate it a dont bother.....at least i got into that for 4.35! Only highpoint was Christopher ecclestons performance. Although the script/character he had didnt give him much room to shine! Yeah it's done using a process called, iirc 'Rotoscope' whereby it's filmed first then made to look like it's been animated afterwards. Which seems slightly pointless I suppose but it works well, especially for this. You don't have to be a sci-fi / Philip K. Dick geek to like it imo although it's the first adaptation of one of his stories that I've seen that gets to the black comedy that underpins his work. Even 'Bladerunner' (which I love) doesn't really 'get' it, if you know what I mean. Keanu Reeves is even canny good in it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
