Think the unanimous response was pretty much "Yeah, I'd have a shag!". I mean for some reason now as low testerone middle aged bloke (hey, we can't all be MF), that really doesn't strike me as something that would be happening. Who says your mates would give you a choice?
Gemmill 44804
We're now at two threads where Renton is up a height about the possibility of nuclear war. AND COUNTING.

There wasn't a moment in that film where I'd rather not be dead than living through the nightmare those characters from Sheffield experienced. And that includes before the bomb dropped. I finally got round to watching it to. I thought there might have been a bit more 'action' but fucking hell, it was just bleak.

I thought there might have been a bit more 'action' but fucking hell, it was just bleak. A lot bleaker than the US version, "The day after", which was released at around the same time and was reported to be the trigger for Reagan to support multilateral nuclear arms reductions. Before this, the knacker actually believed the US could win a nuclear war. Would a full scale nuclear confict be Threads level of bad? Probably would I feel. A few possibilities for the individual: Instant painless death (vapourisation, my preference). Relatively quick painful death (trapped under rubble, burned to death). Medium length horrific death (acute radiation sickness, probably my fate given where I live). Long-term death (starvation, disease). Survive but society is now stone age (fate worse than death imo). Although the idea that nuclear war would trigger a nuclear winter has now beem largely discredited, so there is that. Renton 21567
Yep, that's exactly what a stone age society would be like. The reality would be lasses having hairy buttocks.

Renton 21567
Of course, If we are talking cartoons you're right. Betty and Fred had proper eyes, whereas Barney and WIlma had dot drug addict eyes. And then they had kids, Pebbles and Bam Bam, and they spoiled everything, as they always do.
