The New World

Fantastic cinematography, but dreadfuly boring, with boringly sentimental monologues, Colin Farrell once again demonstrates his ability to do any accent as long as it's Irish.

How embarassing was it that when he was playing Alexander the great that they made all the macedonians talk with Irish accents to match him. One of the stupidest decisions i've seen in films, alogn with actually releasing Alexander at all as it was a dull pile of shite!

It was like an ancient episode of Bally Kissangel

worse than Aeon Flux which is saying something.

Finally got round to watching Silent Hill. Rubbish. Some good fan service that brought a few smiles but overall another shit game/movie tie in.

Ultraviolet is deff not a fab film but some of the fight scenes and shoot outs are good, its just brain candy for the duration of the film, forgotten once its off if you know what I mean.

Tony Takitani - Tony is lonely so he gets married. His wife likes to shop. He doesn't appreciate it. He's left lonely.

NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS!

Very slow indeed.

I enjoyed it.

Vertigo

Found myself a bit annoyed toward the end when it seemed there wasn't a single character to like in the whole thing, but it's the first time I've seen it and I know I've missed loads. It's obviously not a straightforward thriller, although the suspense is occassionally high, you could see the ending a mile off. Seems to be more about fear of falling in love than fear of falling from a height. I imagine that having conquered his fear in the end he'll go back and marry midge, he just needed a few small steps to practice on first. Looking foward to watching the docs and listening to the commentary. Great, but not the best film I saw today.

The Rules of Attraction

Mildly entertaining. Lots of guff with backward scenes and starting at the end to try and give the impression it was cleverer than it was. It wasn't. I always loved the Streets song Empty Cans and it reminded me of that.

Glengarry Glen Ross

Fucking awesome. Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon and Alec Baldwin are frickin amazing. Ed Harris Alan Arkin and Kevin Spacey are only brilliant. Put me in mind of 12 Angry Men, in that there's hardly anything to it. Just a few blokes trying to top a salesman chart. But the drama, the performances, the humour. It's all tip top.

All 3 are £2.99 at HMV, I have to recommend the first and last.

that ones a strange film - about 2 hours long iirc and as you say not a lot happens.

but its the performances - not so much whats said, but how its delivered.

ive just watched quantum leap season 4 - totally brilliant. cant wait for season 5 to watch the episodes with the evil leapers.

also watched millenium season 3. not quite as good as season 2 which imho was some of the best american tv ive seen.

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang - Not bad 7-10

157750[/snapback]

is that the one with Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jnr?

I loved it, well written, well acted characters in believable and engaging stories.

it was entertaining fare and obeyed only a few of the Hollywood regimes

top rate under the radar film

Not even joking.

Haha no seriously, I thought it was complete gash.

Mind I'm sure I'm in the minority as I don't think I've ever seen a "classic" film that I actually liked. :)
