adios 717
SoA seemed beyond cringeworthy; not even Perlman could save it. Completely baffled by the praise it gets.

David Kelly 1260
Wonder Woman. I think Gadot is pretty good as Wonder Woman but it's difficult to be sure as she's just far too good looking and it's difficult to do anything else than just stare at her. Which makes the whole film totally unbelievable. There's no way you could concentrate on having a war when she's around and I'm pretty sure she could be the answer for world peace. Lost it's way a bit with the over reliance on some quite shonky CGI that took you out of the film a couple of times. The Big Bad wasn't much cop either. That said, it's a solid superhero movie and I'd put it alongside Captain America: the First Avenger for more than just the obvious reasons. Didn't notice the CGI at all as I was fixated on Gadot. But yes it did feel a lot like Captain America (which I also thought was pony but didn't have the mitigating factor of starring a goddess). It's probably the best DC film not directed by Nolan, Burton or Donner but it doesn't have much else to beat really.

There's the battle in the village and then the final battle where I thought the CGI was a bit shit. but yeah Gadot is incredible.

I agree that the bad guy (all of them really) weren't up to much. I think they certainly have something to work with if they use her properly and I suppose this is the first real positive step for DC in bringing their universe to the screen. Yeah, Personally I would have brought this movie out after Man of Steel, but before Dawn of Justice. Saying that though, I would have split the action of Man of Steel over 2 movies. On Clark Kent off in the world establishing himself as a hero in that reality and a fully formed character in the audiences. Bring Gadot's Wonder Woman in after the first film, have her cameo as an appalled bystander in the second as Superman destroys the city, then the three of them meet up in DoJ. but I'm a nerd so... Thought Gadot and Pine's chemistry was decent, good action sequences on the beach, in the alley and across no-man's land. Some snappy dialogue, and it fleshes out the DCEU in much the same was as the 1st Captain America film did for the MCU. It's the best film in the DCEU so far, imo, but that's because the missteps in the others have been pretty bad. That said the majority of the support characters were instantly forgettable, the antagonists were paper thin and held no menace, the large set pieces were the kind of CGI I expect to see in lower budget films, certainly not up to scratch for a movie that was supposed to strengthen DC's movie arm. Gadot did nail Wonder Woman's character though, imo. The message was heavy handed (the parade past people that they "couldn't help"), the nod to Nolan's Batman line about not being the hero they deserve, but the one they need/don't deserve it but need saving, and so on. But this is DC, they don't do subtle messages on the whole.

I quite liked the 'new' director's cut or whatever with the added comic strip style bits too. It's a bit dated but still worth a watch I reckon.
