Logan. 7.6/10 Didn't quite deliver but was a very good alternative X-Men film. The chemistry between him and his daughter was well done by Mangold.

That's about 5 higher than I was expecting from you.

Enjoyed Logan. I think anyone expecting a regular x men type film will be disappointed but for me it was exactly what I wanted from a Wolverine film. Good to see with the likes of this and Deadpool, Marvel can offer something different.

It had a beautiful balance to it and Mangold IMO created a backdrop of melancholy that permeated right into the fight scenes that gave them more meaning. There was also this Western motif of the retired gunslinger.

Yeah that was exactly what I thought.

Logan - A bit disappointed really, would probably score it around where parky did but after hearing about how great it is from elsewhere it didn't stand up to the hype.

Excellent performances from Jackman, Stewart and the kid but the fighting got boring after the first couple, the villains were dull, southern guy, exposition man(who threatened to be interesting for about 10 seconds at one point) and the symbolic muscle. Didn't care about any of them in the slightest by the end of it.

How early on did everyone else know exactly what would happen to that nice family with the horses and stuff?

I thought the Southern guy was good. Thats the bloke from Narcos.

Richard E Grant wasnt too menacing though.

I was expecting a masterpiece but there were definite flaws, although it was very well done and very different from the normal superhero movies.

I thought it rated about 6.3/10

I start with a base score of 5 if I like a film and a base score of 3 if I didn't then add points for dir, camera, performances, script etc...It's propa scientific.

5/10 - fair

6/10 - watchable

I was taking the piss. It's the same with footballer ratings, most of them end up with 7/10, 6/10 if they had a crap game, 8/10 a good game

When you're continually curating your personal top 100 the decimal points come into play. ;)

Just score them out of 100, since that's what you're effectively doing ;)

:D

The TV section of The Evening Chronicle back in the day when it was a broadsheet and it (or at least the TV critic) still had pretensions of it being a quality newspaper.
