The Prestige. Great film. Had me guessing for the duration. Christian Bale puts on another top performance.

Fences. Good film adaptation. Denzel at his best. Talk of an Oscar.

I rewatched The Prestige last week. Cracking movie

Cromwell.  There was a talking pictures thing on yesterday with Richard Harris and then this was on straight after.  It's not as good as some of the other historical drama's of around the same time (such as A Man For All Seasons) but there's good performances from Harris as Cromwell and Alec Guinness as the king.  It's an interesting watch to learn a bit more about the revolution although I don't think it did that great a job of showing the peoples real grievances against the king.

The Handmaiden.  Another excellent film from Chan Wook Park (director of Oldboy and Lady Vengeance) about a Korean girl who gets set up as a handmaiden to a Japanese woman with aim of taking her inheritance from her.  Has some great twists and seriously good sex scenes.  I really must get round to watching JSA and Sympathy For Mr Vengance as the rest of his films are never anything short of interesting.

Passengers.  When I saw it described as Titantic in space I was immediately put off but we had money off on nachos this week so decided to give it a go.  Fortunately it's much better than that description (not hard admittedly) without being anything particularly exciting.  Micheal Sheen is quite good and there's one good scene where the artificial gravity fails but other than that you're really relying on Jennifer Lawrence's bathing suit for any enjoyment.

It was dreadful. 2/10

Might as well have just left the blue screen undigitized.

The whole film is just them having a natter.

I've seen much worse films.  It wasn't terrible but I'd certainly never watch it again and it's the worst film I've seen at the cinema that I wasn't dragged to by a lass (Jack and Jill, Battleship and one of the Twilight films being the worst I've been forced to watch).  The leads are both pretty enjoyable actors to watch so that helped.

''Oh look the ship's malfunctioning where's my makeup? ''

''Hey I just found some Tom Ford suits....What's that about the ship? ''

''I'm gonna do a space walk get ready with the blue screen y'all...''

''Don't do a spacewalk you cunt! It takes hundreds of hours to paint all these stars in...''

A lass forced you to watch battleship...? Was that just cos Rihanna is in it?

No it's because she was going to suck me off afterwards.

Oh I see what you mean.  Nah she liked shitty action films and I'd made her see Jaws and Back To The Future with me.  She was a lot younger than me and hadn't seen either before.

I'm not about to suggest that there wasn't a multitude of things wrong with it but many better films do too tbf.  It was just a very average film for me.

I love how statement one was left in the post here despite statement two following it up without the use of an Edit.

Fair enough anyway ;)

Well we split up soon after so maybe you're right.

I can't believe after the three films I mentioned, Battleship is the one that you's a picking up on.  It's comfortably the best of the three.

She should have a shrine in her boudoir for you.

"Made her" ffs

Well she did but that was for a very different reason.

She didn't like Back To The Future at all.  Liked Jaws though if I remember rightly.

I don't understand?
