Dickie 0
The Team Foxcatcher documentary on Netlfix, about the murder of a top wrestler in America by John Du Point, one of the richest people in the world. Good story about a rich nut job, very well told.

David Kelly 1245
I didn't see Close Encounters til I was in my late 20's and I thought (and still do) that it was superb. I hated 2001 the first time I watched it (probably for the same reason that I didn't like Blade Runner) but someone (probably Happy Face) put a link on here years ago, to a site with an analysis of it. After I read that I watched it again and absolutely loved it. Admittedly I was a bit pissed so I agree with Dr Gloom's suggestion.

Park Life 71
Star Trek Beyond - Total formulaic pap and no surprises. 3/10 The Federation is still the American Empire and people who stand up to it are backward or bear some kind of archaic grudge. /see EU and Brexit. Park Life 71
Did Clint not direct it as well? Of course he did. He had the script for 10 years and waited till he was ready. You can see some early form in Pale Rider and Outlaw Josey Wales. Both excellent.

February I think they're saying. Diane's character plays a pretty major role in the sequel novel Porno which John Hodge has vaguely based the new films screenplay on and Kelly McDonald was apparently "in talks"...Kevin McKidd isn't in it as his character Tommy died in the first one. http://www.theguardian.com/film/video/2016/jul/25/trainspotting-2-exclusive-teaser-trailer-for-danny-boyles-sequel-video?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Edited July 26, 2016 by PaddockLad
Alex 35095
Thought Porno was canny but not 'vintage Welsh'. Tell you what I loved - Glue.
Dr Gloom 21924
Was that one the train spotting prequel? Can't remember the name of that one but thought it was canny.
NJS 4386
Porno is the sequel, Glue was a different story about mates growing up and I agree with Alex that it's his best. I think he lost the plot for a while with a few weaker books but I read The Blade Artist recently and enjoyed it a lot. So much that I've gone back to the previous latest one - A Decent Ride - which is good so far .

Was that the one with a TV presenter character with a strong regional accent who drove a around in a hearse, committing necrophilia in various UK morgues?....it might have been one of 3 short stories?.. Was that one the train spotting prequel? Can't remember the name of that one but thought it was canny.
