A 21st century masterpiece. 139704 139705 Obviously it's shite like, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. You can tell there's a few Saturday Night Live bods involved, there are some sharp lines in amongst the fluff.

Happy Face 29
Enron - The Smartest guys in the Room I have on stand-by. I will certainly watch that in the coming weeks. I remember seeing the title and confusing it with the Exxon incident, the tanker that leaked oil wiping out untold numbers of marine based creatures. I actually don't remember much about Enron at all but I love a good documentary since the people in them don't decline into madness and shoot other people in the head. Not usually anyway. 73386 http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2196821,00.html

Gemmill 44006
Watched Saw 2 recently - it was alright, but fairly mindless tat. Also saw King Kong on the plane - absolute pile of shit. Seriously, it's complete rubbish. On the plane back I saw Brokeback Mountain which was good and Match Point which was very mediocre.
manc-mag 1
King Kong's alreet if you put your mind in neutral! What were you expecting like? A remake of Schindlers List?
Gemmill 44006
I just expected it to not be shit! It wasn't even vaguely entertaining man. If you're into special effects (which I'm not), I suppose the battling with the dinosaur things might have been good, but I just thought it was overly drawn-out pap tbh. sweetleftpeg 0
I saw King Kong on the plane at the start of the month and thought it was nothing better than alright. Narnia on the way back however was shit.

King Kong was a pile of rancid turd. Even the effects were poor I thought.

I could only just tolerate Return of the King, and that was only because I'd seen the first two.

Happy Face 29
My only problem with King Kong was how it lurched from one precarious situation to another. I was thoroughly enjoying the story until they decided to stop it for an hour and a half of running through the forest. Saying that, I had exactly the same problem with the original, I guess he wanted to honour it.

It looks like it cost about £50 to make though whereas 'Bad Taste' looks like it cost 50p. None the worse for it either. I love the bit where the shooting at the aliens but it's just the same people in (pretty shit) costumes. Pure class.

I haven't seen Heavenly Creatures, so it's really just the Lord of the Rings debacle. He's enjoying making movies and the film world is treating him like a messiah for some pretty average, mundane, boretastic films, which I suspect King Kong is also. But that's not his fault, and at least he never produced Hulk.
Guest alex
Watched the LotR trilogy and fell asleep about 30 mins from the end of Return... Could never be arsed to watch that last half hour which says it all really. Haven't seen Heavenly Creatures but it's meant to be good. I quite like Kate Winslet. He completely screwed up on the return of the king and despite massacreing the book's ending, and missing the entire point of the trilogy I thought, he still made it an hour too long! Jesus did cry at those numerous false endings.
