David Kelly 1260
there will be blood is beyond awful. i can't remember the last time i watched anything quite so self-important, pretentious and, frankly, boring.Aye that's pretty much I how I felt too. I know a lot of people really rate it so I keep thinking I should give it another go but I can't work up the energy.

David Kelly 1260
I loved Breaking Bad but I'm not sure I'll ever want to watch it again like I do with Game Of Thrones, The Wire and The Soprano's.

Whenever I try watching it I can't get over the thought "He would be alright if he lived in Britain".

Howmanheyman 33850
I'm like that with Breaking Bad. I'm watching that at the minute. I'm enjoying it but think it's definitely been overhyped. Soprano's is in a different league imo which I'm watching again.
Kid Dynamite 7173
Aye, I preferred The Shield, Suits, Rescue Me and various others. Breaking Bad was canny but not as good as all the hype

Gemmill 46034
In comparison, it's light years ahead of Suits. I didn't mind Suits, although packed in watching it during season 2, but it's definitely powder puff and superficial in a way that BB wasn't. Gemmill 46034
It's a funny 20 minute comedy show, Dave. It remains funny and you remain stupid for ignoring a comedy recommendation from someone of my calibre. (PS never try to score points vs me, I will fucking end you)

Aye, I caught a bit of Suits and it's one of those shows that somehow runs for 6 seasons without you realising. My mate watches it like but he fully admits that it's only for the lass in it. David Kelly 1260
The ex used to watch Suits. Unlike most of the stuff she watched (TOWIE, Made In Chelsea, Hollyoaks etc) it didn't make me want to stick me foot through the telly but I never had any interest in watching it once we split. Dr Gloom 22155
the first couple of seasons of suits were alright. the third, which is mine and the wife's current choice of compromise tv, has some awful, awful sub plots going on.

Happy Face 29
What does high brow mean? Is Homeland high brow for dealing with international politics? Is it bollocks, it's 24 with less plausibility. Is Scandal? Nah, It's Greys anatomy with fucking in the oval office rather than the operating theatre. Breaking Bad is thematically rich in the same way The Sopranos is. Massive care and attention is paid to recurring motifs, ideas, colours and clothes even. Characters don't change to fit the storylines, there's a consistent line of motivation and writers are at pains to stay true to character and the reality of the show. I've never seen suits, but I've never seen anyone write as enthusiastically and in as much detail as this about it either... http://entertainment.time.com/2013/09/24/hidden-breaking-bad-the-stuff-you-may-have-missed/ So I assume it doesn't have the depth of BB. ewerk 31209
The difference is largely in the writing. I've watched most of Suits and Scandal and it's okay TV, it's stylistically well produced and is easy viewing. The overall arc of the shows, character development and ability to surprise the viewer is where it really falls down against the best TV.

And despite all of that I find the shows I listed to be better viewing than BB. Shoot me! I found Sunny in Philly, the Office and countless others better too
