Dr Gloom 21768
Thought it was quite brilliant and stylised, saw it about 5 years ago. It was funny how much shit the protagonist had to go through on his road to redemption. I loved the toilet scene. Made the trainspotting one look quite tame
Meenzer 15353
I saw that on a dodgy download with really badly translated subtitles. Bit offputting. As was the toilet scene.

David Kelly 1217
Head Hunters. Enjoyable Norwegian popcorn fare on Netflix. 7/10It was on BBC4 last night. I started watching Inherent Vice last night but I'd had half a bottle of wine with me dad before hand so I fell asleep an hour into it. It had the feel of a film I would really love (reminiscent of The Long Goodbye or a mix of Chinatown and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) but I was really struggling to make any sense of it. I was hoping that was mainly down to me being half asleep but on reading some of the comments on IMDB it looks like that might just be the way it is with it. I'll definitely have another go at it when I'm more awake though. If only for Joanna Newsome's narration.

Howmanheyman 32648
Argo and Life of Pi. Enjoyed Argo but wondered why in the credits at the end they never mentioned the aborted attempt by their special forces where eight of them died? Also got to see the bit where "The Brits turned them away" when they actually put them up for a night. I still enjoyed it but tut, tut, those pesky Hollywood films, coming over here, making up shite, etc. Life of Pi was a strange one, watched it as I thought my nine year old would like it which she did, but wasn't as good as I thought it might be. Not bad all the same. Yours sincerely, Barry Norman Happy Acorn Resting Home, London, W12 8QT 23rd May, 1983

Gemmill 44172
The Theory of Everything. I enjoyed it. The pair that played Hawking and his wife did a class job. Fair play to Frank LeBoeuf for turning up as the French doctor as well - since when did that prick get into Acting? Also watched The Imitation Game. Preferred it of the two, Cumberbatch was great in it and it just lent itself a bit better to the medium. Anyway nowt like watching two films about geniuses in one day to make you question what the fuck you've achieved in life.

Cumberbatch terrific central performance like only British actors can give.

David Kelly 1217
Finished watching Inherent Vice. Extremely convoluted for what was basically a very straightforward story. It was like they were actively trying to confuse you. Which is a bit of a shame because other than that it was very likeable.

Gemmill 44172
By the way, watched Birdman as well. What a load of self indulgent shit. I fought the urge to turn it off all the way through.
Meenzer 15353
Really enjoyed the help. MrsP talked me into watching it. You is Kaaaand, you is smart, you is important. (Caught up with a few TiVo'd films recently, The Help and (500) Days Of Summer among them. Both diverting but flawed in their own way. meh/10.) Happy Face 29
Why cause you had a little man cry? Exactly. Ironically, given the condition of Hawking, Turing was too much of a robot to empathise with as much.
