Apparently Musk has made 1200 Twitter posts in the last 7 days. Lost the plot. You'd think he would have better things to do, like do his CEO jobs or just enjoy his vast wealth?

Instead he's disappeared down his own rabbit hole and in fact I nearly have enough material to write a script for Black Mirror based on him.

He’s trying to destabilise Europe and that includes trying to overthrow our recently elected government but it won’t be winning new soldiers to rally round his banner. It’s the usual suspects. “Hitler was a socialist” last night I read… it’s not exactly new or original and neither was his ranting about the Asian rape gangs. It’s just likely to further antagonise the already fractious among the easily lead. If Jess Phillips is attacked after he called her a “rape genocide apologist” that’ll be seen as a good days work for him. And in 10 days he’ll be the de facto vice president of the United States 😑

The share price is up 69% from a year ago so they aren't too bothered for now. This is despite falling sales and price cuts. It's a massive bubble imo.

He did an interview with that afb leader where she said hitler was a "communist/socialist guy - and we're the exact opposite" - He agreed like the moron he is.

 

All of this ignores the fact that hitler invaded the soviet union, repeatedly called communism the enemy of Germany, thought Marxism was a Jewish conspiracy and locked up trade unionists in concentration camps before the first Jewish person was ever sent to one.

 

If you ignore all of that then he maybe has a point.

 i know it's a voxpop echo chamber but it is heartening. the majority of brits are, in the main, a decent bunch. that, combined with our electoral system, will hopefully keep the extremists at bay. 

 

it also pays to remember that news is an industry which the hyper-capitalists often exploit to divide us. things are rarely as bad as they seem. i don't have my head in the sand either but i'm also trying to disengage for the same reasons you outlined - there are things beyond our control that make little sense losing too much sleep over. our country, for all its flaws, is a safe and moderate place, with mostly decent people.

At least with Trump and Musk as the frontmen of the end times we'll get a few good laughs at the absolute insane shit they (and the dribbling hoard of doylems that like them) spout as the world burns around us. It's going to happen anyway, we may as well have a laugh about it IMO.
