The fact that this bloke has a prominent position in the American government is fucking ludicrous.

He has money and a global social media platform (two things trump definitely doesn’t have) so he’s a useful tool for trump even if he’s ill equipped for any real position.

The fact he’s such a snivelling, unfunny, desperately uncool and quite frankly - thick cunt - is just something the maga lot have to tolerate.

if Tesla went under tomorrow or one of his daft rockets crashed into a small town they’d be calling him all sorts within 24 hours and musk would suddenly grow a conscious.

Trouble is it makes no difference to him whatsoever. :(

Makes a difference to you though. Increasingly I think that's all we can do, stand up for what we believe in just for our own sake.

People's timelines will be getting worse by the day at the minute as more and more moderate leave, and everyone but the most MAGA / Reform wingnut crew will have a tipping point for leaving.

Over time, if it becomes more of a cesspit, driven by the above and dickhead's algorithm, it can fail as a business if it gets bad enough.

Both good points. I spend less and less time there and only look at those I follow which are generally similar in outlook.

Musk paid $44bn for Twitter. Today it’s worth less than $10bn and he still owes $13bn in outstanding bank loans he took out for the purchase. It has haemorrhaged advertisers and it’s shift to right wing politics means its value is only going to decrease further.

I know it has brought him benefits like being closely embedded in the next US government but he has taken a hell of a financial battering over it.

If that's not a reason to leave it, I don't know what is.

It's the primary reason I rarely use Twitter these days.

But Twitter is reasonably small fry to Musk. The bigger problem I can see him having is with Tesla. Gun toting Trump nuts aren't their market, their customers are latte loving liberals like Gloom. It won't be long until a lot of these people are making a conscious decision not to buy Teslas which has been made even easier by the massive number of alternatives that have come to market in recent years.

Tesla is currently hugely overvalued imo, mostly because this cult of personality around Musk. If they see significant falls in sales, coupled with the revelation that the emperor has no clothes then the whole thing could come crashing down.

Except, through Trump, he will fix it through tariffs that his domestic market is untouched, which is where most his money currently is. For foreign markets, he'll build those cars in the respective markets so they will remain competitive. THese tree hugger types like Gloomy are usually all mouth and no trousers, they're not going to boycott Tesla in great numbers imo. He'll also use his influence to dominate the space market making it uncompetitive for others.

Apparently Musk is very anti-tariff and has been making his gob go about this with Trump. He'll either manage to convince Trump it's a bad idea, or he'll get fucked off.

25% of Tesla's income is generated in China. Although most of these cars are manufactured and sold in China so wouldn't attract tariffs, the Chinese could make it very difficult for Tesla to operate seeing as he's closely aligned to a man about to slap massive tariffs on all their goods.

Elon will fail in the next couple of years, he is the very definition of the emperor’s new clothes. Tesla was unprofitable for 17 years until 2020 then started getting into trouble again this year because of falling sales. The stock price has artificially rocketed due to interest in the robotaxi AI and the Optimus robot project. These are decades away from profit making so the price will crash if there’s any jitters in the market in the next few years.

I removed Elon’s cunt app from my phone yesterday as per Toontastic T & C’s 🫡

I haven’t as yet lowered myself to follow Toonpack on Bluesky though. I do have some standards :huff:

Well the bright side is I'm on, the downside is toonpack is my stalker and yours too if you sign up? :good: (especially as he's now retired and trying to blank out their lass telling him stuff or what to do).
