Got a free ticket today. Bar the first 20mins it was every bit as shit as the Burnley game.

-Joselu has scored 2 in 9. And 1 of those was a total fluke. Benitez' refusal to play Mitro is getting daft now

-Shelvey was strolling about again today. Also looked like a red card waiting to happen

-Murphy looked like a Sunday league player when he came on. Aarons must be a better option for the bench

Losing to Huddersfield, Brighton, Burnley and Bournemouth doesn't bode well for home and away games to Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea etc

The sad thing is we are a no.9 and no.10 away from being a good team. We don't tend to concede more than 1 a game and if we can score we're almost guaranteed a point before we start.

But we can't so we aren't.

Merino or Shelvey must be a better option than Perez at no.10 once he's fit

Played well in the first half, created enough chances but didn't take any of them. Second half was poor.

Joselu off for Perez sub was disastrous. Mitrovic shoud've went on instead.

Officials were dire.

I don't want to jump to conclusions on players but Murphy made absolutely no impact on the game when he came on, didn't look quick, didn't press, didn't look like he could beat his man, who was on a yellow card and tired. Maybe he needs time and games but it doesn't look great. I think we should loan him out ASAP. Looks bereft of confidence and won't regain it here.

We knew the limitations of the squad after August 31st. We knew it was going to be a slog. And here we are.

Mitrovic'll be playing up front for his country in the World Cup ffs

Really wish we'd just try something different and just play him.

Also, how bad was that late freekick we had btw? Fucking hell, absolutely embarrassing.

Not really embarrassing, it was a poor touch in a move that might have otherwise resulted in an effort. Smashing one into the stands is no less embarrassing imo.

Getting sick of people criticising players atm. Yes some of them are shite because our shite owner gave us shite funds. It's not their fault they're shite, they're clearly trying their best. So do players like Joselu need to go on to Twitter and read about how shite we think he is? Will it do his confidence any good?

It was terrible, there's no denying it.

And I'm not saying that/criticising our players at all, read my post above the one about how bad the free kick was. Our fanbase on social media is pure :anguish: after defeats. Just stay away from it.

The bikkies they're on warrants it to be frank. If they're happy to take money that essentially comes from supporters then, they should be taking legitimate criticism on board and trying to do something about it. Sure it's not his fault he is continually selected but at some point criticising a player's performance becomes part of a means to an end. It's quite clear that unless something changes we're going to be blessd for the rest of the season with set ups that mimimise the risk of conceding, with little chance of scoring becauae we simply don't have the quality out there. It was good to see Gayle start in a sense because it's perhaps a sign that certain players aren't beyond being dropped, likewise with Perez starting on the bench. Bringing both him and Murphy on proved pointless as has persisting with Joselu who seems to get worse every time we see him, if his confidence hasn't bottomed out based on how he's played then a little bit of a nudge on social media is overdue. What a woeful half of football that was, not scapegoating, everyone collectively was embarrassingly bad, couldn't maintain possession let alone create anything.

Just singling out the particularly bad bits from one of the worst forum posts I've had the mispleasure of reading since the advent of wireless broadband. The club, in spite of Ashley, is slowly moving forward and you're advocating a twitter onslaught on one of our seemingly grossly overpaid players?  I'm not sure if  frustration  over a poor performance just makes people appear phenomenally fuckin stupid or whether they achieved that state some time ago :cuppa:

I think its been mentioned already but the ref was a clueless wanker again. How much longer before we get some sort of luck with these guys? The foul on Gayle near the end was clear as day and he was in on goal. A couple of really cynical fouls not yellow carded as well. Useless twat.

1. Not advocating a twitter onslaught. Suggesting that a player should not be influenced by inevitable criticism levied at them on social media whether due or not, and that instead they should be aware of their own form.

2. Slowly moving forward is currently overachieving through strategically structured play designed to eliminate as much of the risk of conceding goals as possible. Good timing and happenstance have contributed to just about the only element that we've moved forward in, and that's coaching/management. Let's not kid outselves here, if we had a Rafa quality manager in for a meaningful amount of time in either of the relegation seasons then we would never have been relegated. So we've effectively moved forward in one admittedly important aspect whilst in just about every other way we've gone backwards. Spare Rafa and the circus of Ashley we're a non entity in the league.

3. Of course it's frustration you absolute peanut. Anyone who watched that game, in particular the second half, has a right to feel frustrated. Compounded when local kick-off is at 2AM.

4. Fuck off.

Sounds like you think you're entitled to "follow" a winning football team because you get up early? That's just bizarre

Comprehension on here is sadly lacking.

We really need to be scoring goals while we are on top in games, that first 30 mins of the game yesterday was very good from us and we could have had 3 or 4 goals. Gayle's goal was onside so we were unlucky in that respect. Joselu needs dropped, he's shite. We lost our way second half, poor defending for their goal although it was coming with the pressure they had in injury time. Disappointing and we need some goals from somewhere.
