I like how they have made it feel old school.  I've seen some cracking photos during contruction my mate sent me.

 

 

Laing O'Rourke made the pre-cast units direct from a model made by mate so everything had to be mm perfect. A first for this process in the country.  Normally the PCC guys do their own modelling and sort that out themselves.  LOR are pretty shit hot at that stuff.

The old WHL being the best actual football ground in London up to the time it was replaced with a multi events venue.Part of the away end was abysmal tbf, high up in the corner wrapped around the police police control room which was suspended from the roof of the stand but as long as you were in the the next block it was great and it didn’t detract from the rest of the ground. Loved Highbury and Upton Park too. But the best atmosphere was at WHL iyam

Made a tidy profit at Upton Park once from the 2p (and odd 10p) pieces raining down from the Bobby Moore stand upper tier.

 

Went in a polis Mini bus with my copper mate and 10/12 other assorted CID and Sargeants. Was handy when we stopped at Newark (I think) on way back and managed to get a chinese to stay open to feed us as one of the lads had been in Hong Kong polis and he sweet-talked the lady owner in perfect mandarin 😀

 

My copper companions spent much of the game pointing out the coppers working the game as "aye, he's Northumbria" "so's he" etc.
