Just taken delivery of this. One for maybe some of our resident data mongs to avail themselves of?

It's written by the bloke who was basically head of data at Liverpool when they won the league, so it's from someone who knows what actually works and why. Genuinely worth a read for anyone who follows football in this day and age.

Director for over a decade and they won the league once?

And the CL, FA Cup, League Cup, Super Cup, and Club World Cup. I'd take that tbh.

Beat Spurs in CL final ffs

The rest are stocking fillers. Like finding a cadburys selection box and an apple and orange in a pillow case at the end of you bed on Christmas Day when you’re 8 :cuppa:

Tell you what that book has taught me. That it could have been Spurs having all this success, but for Harry Redknapp. The author, Michael Edwards, and Damien Comolli were all at Spurs, and they were having some success with signing players using statistical based models.

Then they appointed Redknapp. He thought it was all a load of shit and just wanted to sign players that he'd worked with previously.

Which ultimately led to the protagonists decamping to Liverpool.

Good old 'arry the dinosaur.

They've painted their set piece coach on the side of the stadium.

They might as well sign Chris Wood to get on the end of these set pieces, because that's the only way they look like scoring atm!

He’d absolutely batter them in for them too. Spanish Sam Allardyce would love it.

Count Dracula earning a penalty with a dive but then missing a sitter and failing to score in the shootout is the kind of poetic justice I have always been waiting for.
