Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

Indeed Chaser. They've had huge amounts of cash to spend, they should have been able to buy their way to the top with a bit of competence and strategic nous. Instead theyve fucked up each manager appointment in a perpetual cycle of early termination, binning the old manager's players and then buying new players for a new manager/approach. Theyve wasted such huge amounts of money theyve run out of PSR headroom deapite being one of the richest clubs in the world. Its glorious 😂😂😂

Now King Rat has come in and his solution is to swing the axe on the club infrastructure, destroying morale and any sense of club harmony. Beautiful, hollow the fuck out of them, we all know how that goes. Appoint a yes man like Penfold to run the club single handed while youre at it,  that'll save a pot of cash. No doubt Amorim will be binned by next season and the whole dance will start again.

The saying "the beatings will continue until morale improves" seems appropriate here.

The PSR situation doesn't count towards the likes of Man Utd. I fail to beleive they'll not spend a wedge in summer.

Some special adjustment no doubt (again) Amorim broke a finger nail opening a stuck drawer on his desk, £50 million HSE review by INEOS specialist.

Rangers announcing Barry Ferguson, Alan McGregor, Billy Dodds and Neil McCann as Caretakers is interesting.

For whatever reason it has me picturing Steven Segal standing at a bus stop in the rain, desperately trying to convince passers by that he's a black-belt in some obscure martial art.

I assume he wasn’t nearly as bad in Serie A which is why Man U were interested in the first place. I’d be surprised if they got back even half of what they paid for him.

He only spent one season at atalanta and got 9 goals.

It was mental of them to drop 70 million on him but it was about when haaland, isak and nunez all moved and they HAD to sign a big money striker to keep up appearances.

He’s worth €60m according to Transfermarkt. And they use STATISTICS to work these things out. And we all know STATISTICS are never wrong.

Think his missus and mother of his son used to spread 'em for his mags back in the day. Maybe he's used to getting his way despite looking like a poisonous dwarf?

 the premier league can always find the worst solution to every problem.

How the fuck do they think they can get away with basically giving Man City and Chelsea a pre-sale on summer transfers, and lock out the rest of the division?

It basically turns the rest of the league into the equivalent of low-life pot 6 dross.

What the fuck are Chelsea doing in the club world cup? They haven't won a European trophy (or the club world cup) since 2021.

Surely, this interim transfer window has to be opened to everyone? Not like anyone will be willing to sell to either unless for mental money and most of Chelsea's players on mortgage length contracts anyway.

Exactly that's the other thing. Firstly who else has an open window during this special pre-sale to even sell to them? But secondly, as you say, who is gonna be daft enough to sell to them in a false market, unless they offer mental money.

What it does do though, is give these clubs first dibs on anyone with a value release clause. Which is just another reason that it can't be allowed to happen.

I mean, any club can activate a release clause when the window is closed tbf - it happens all the time. We could agree the fee and terms well in advance so them being able to have them on the books sooner wouldn't make much difference other than they have an unfair amount of time to integrate.

I see no upside to this for Man City and Chelsea other than that though because they will have to pay way inflated fees players who might be fucking shit in their set ups (or get injured with the extra games).

Tebas said: "City have a lot of companies in their group which lie outside the City Football Group structure, extra companies where they put their expenses.

"These other companies lose the money but not the club itself. We have reported Manchester City to the EU. We have the facts and figures.

"We asked for City to be checked. It's very important that all clubs are subject to the same transparency rules and governance on both the sporting and financial side.

"The City case is one where we believe they have put the losses on the companies that are not officially part of City Football Group."

He added: "They have a scouting company, a marketing company. That's where they have very high expenses. They invoice City for less money.

If true then this is quite a clever structure to reduce costs while maximising revenue.
