Someone on Twitter said the NUFC fuss wasn’t about who was taking over but who was being taken over and it’s exactly right.

Obviously RTG are over the moon about it

Losers.

I don’t get why the mackems would be so excited, so we will be competing with Manchester United the club that have spent basically the same as Man City and Chelsea over the last decade? There’s a fucking shock

Because their ultimate desire is that we don't do as well as we could. They could still be wallowing in League 1, selling their best player to Stoke in January, but as long as we finished 2nd and didn't win a cup, they'd consider their season a success.

That level of detailed utterly unrepentant bitterness is why you fit in well here :good:

i'm surprised i didn't flush out any scouse lurkers with that momentary loss of decorum

one final mini rant, this time at uefa...

We cooperated with UEFA/G14 in 2013 to ensure we complied with FFP.

They viewed our interim accounts & said they were fine, we'd passed & we had four weeks to submit our certified accounts.

During that four week period, UEFA/G14 moved the monitoring period back by 12 months, meaning the Tevez transfer & 12 months of his wages were now part of the calculation.

City went from being £3m inside FFP, to being £3m outside it, hence the CL squad reduction & a £50m per season transfer cap for THREE SEASONS.

Then there was the £50m fine!

Based on this previous experience, is it any surprise that City have refused to show their hand again?

We probably reasoned that paying a fine for non-cooperation is the least worst scenario for us.

But to finish with some levity given that it might happen again this season...

In the 1937-38 season we became the only reigning champions to be relegated.

In doing so we scored 80 goals and conceded 77.

Incredibly those 80 goals made us the top scorers in the division and our plus 3 goals difference means we are the only team to have been relegated with a positive goal difference.

We've long since eliminated those bellends.

The timing of the announcement of  the charges might have been surprising but the investigations have been ongoing for several years. There was always a likelihood that the accusations will be brought on the table.

The scrutinising of new commercial deals was probably a major topic when the “big” clubs altered the so called ffp regulations to make sure that we can’t suddenly create new income to threaten the existing order.

They no doubt had some very detailed understanding of ways that clubs, "in theory", could flout the regulations.

How convenient for them

If they need the Glazers out there's not a word in existence that adequately encapsulates the magnitude of our prior requirement to remove Ashley from the club.

Yeah they can fuck off with this nonsense. Just making it an open competition doesn't suddenly make it more appealing.

It’s just a way to appease some and to make it applicable to European competition law. They know that UEFA and national Associations will resist a new competition but they do bank on a Bosman style ruling to get the competition they do need financially working.

It is the result of decades of overspending and circumvent financial regulations to keep their dominant position and the status quo.

I used to admire Barca for their football principles and how to play the game but I won’t shed a tear if the club ceases to exist.
