He was, then he accepted the Austria job and was going to split roles, now he's just going to Austria.

The Rangnick plan made so much sense when it first happened, genuinely looked like Man U had realised what was wrong and were actually sacrificing a season to get their big picture back on track and yet it has managed to go completely haywire before the seasons even fully over.

I am looking forward what he is telling the press about what was going on there. The way Man United were playing had no resemblance of his football philosophy. Either he was not good enough to make players getting accustomed to his game plan or the players simply did not accept his methods and ideas.

Anyway, I feared he would do a fantastic job there but am more than happy about his total failure.

I'm going with the latter. Specifically Ronaldo & Pogba.

Was always going to go one of 2 ways. He would either be a success, and the fans would beg to extend his contract ala Solksjaer, or he would be shite and the fans wouldn't want him staying on in any capacity

Turns out it was the latter

The fans don’t make the decisions though. It was either his choice or the people running the club. I get that they can influence decisions of course. But if the board are listening to the fans that much (the Freddie Shepherd excuse) then it’s little wonder they can’t sort themselves out

Aye. I can’t imagine any other set of fans turning out like that. Won two of the competitions they entered and were runners up in the remaining two.

Balague talks some utter shit at times.

Andy Mitten in at the knees, definitely not welcome on Wearside, maybe even a special friendship brewing on Tyneside, I’m sure it will transpire that Manchester United fan Andy is actually a massive MLF.

 His granda actually managed NUFC so maybe he's got a small soft spot although nobody's seriously going to say he's a 'Massive Mag Fan' however if his granda managed Sunderland there'd be claims of MLFness, boyhood Sunderland strips and FTM tattooed on his arse.

I think he’s a brilliant manager, and has done an excellent job with them but aye as your post points to the absolute wankfest around them makes you think he’s delivered far more than that. He gets heaps of praise for being close to winning things, yet Liverpool fans (and the media) deride others for missing out (see Pep with CL).

I mean I’ve seen Liverpool fans regularly discuss how “shit” or “past it” managers like Mourinho and Ancelotti are, and how far behind Klopp they are, it’s just incessant nonsense about that “special” club.

Absolutely horrendous news! Was in Edinburgh on a Saturday back in 1988 and went to the Hibs match where he scored. Pray that his remaining time is a pain-free as it possibly can be.

More over the top praise for Liverpool / disrespect for a non-PL side. One of the sides mentioned won the competition (and their league) and beat PSG, Chelsea, Man City, and Liverpool to do it, the other beat Inter Milan, Benfica, and Villarreal before losing. Not really sure how the media can keep trotting this shite out.

Real Madrid did the current best 3 teams in the English league like a kipper. The reason Jordan et al don't want to acknowledge that is because it's goes against the narrative they pedal that the Premier League is the best league in the world.

Aye. Particularly as they literally aren’t the favourites to win next season’s Premier League or Champions League (unsurprisingly Man City are).
