Apparently after signing Joselu on Friday Rafa said "the search for a striker is finished" If we havevto go through the season with Gayle & Joselu as lone strikers we're in trouble.

We're only in trouble if Rafa continues to be negative and trying to turn the football into some kind of scientific tactic.

Coach the players and let them express themselves in attack.

We were never going to do brilliantly this year, but we should still stay up assuming Shelvey doesn't spend the whole season suspended. Arguably we could have got a point against Spurs, and if he'd been there, maybe we'd have beaten Huddersfield.

Let's panic when we're full strength and still losing.

Shelvey having a brain fart so early on might be more of a blessing in disguise to be fair.

He's under no illusions about what his agenda has to be from this point on, with no lee-way for outlandish idiocy.

Abandon your philosophy, Rafa

His philosophy is negative. He needs to lighten up a bit.

The game isn't just about making sure you don't concede with all else a bonus. The game is about scoring more than the opposition whilst giving the fans value for money.

Clean sheets are a bonus or conceding less goals than you score.

You don't build a confident team by sending them out to go on the back foot all the time.

This season it very likely is about that. I honestly think a defensive, counter attacking style is the best fit for us this season. If teams attack us, it'll work well. It plays to our strengths.

We've no real fret up front i honestly dont think this Joselu kid is the answer. With Gayle not fully fit/interested & Mitro frozen out we need a proven  quality striker. It's the old "goals win games" without them we'-re going to be in trouble. Will Rafa stay? who knows, is this the premiership squad he had in mind ? i doubt it.

Newcastle are struggling to strike deal with Sampdoria for Dennis Praet, a long-term target of Benitez.

There is no chance of the Magpies’ triggering the release clause in the former Anderlecht star’s contract which allows him to leave for £22m.

Definitely Rafa's fault.

Expects too much

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez wants four more signings this summer

Benitez wants to add a defender, goalkeeper, creative player  and a striker before the end of the month.

Teams attacking us does not play to our strengths at all.

Teams attacking us generally get the spoils of the game in this league, because by the time we've shipped a goal or two through this clever defensive work, rafa decides to go for the jugular by unleashing his new strike for and all out attacking mentality by taking off a striker and putting on a striker, whilst still making sure we don't concede.

We will get royally stuffed if we keep this nonsense up.

Attack the teams that are there to be attacked, especially at home.

Be more cautious when the bigger teams come to batter you and hit them on the break.

By hitting on the break it means attacking the team and quickly getting into their danger area before testing their keeper.

It doesn't mean getting into the danger area and then passing it back out, or dawdling on the ball, wondering what to do next.

To be fair, Wolfy's career in professional football coaching eclipses that of Rafa Benitez.

More likely to flap his arms and fly to the moon
