Kid Dynamite 7025
Who's our resident accountant? How would you abuse the transfer system to diddle tax and NI? Underreport the transfer fee and then pay a percentage as a backhander?

Rayvin 5221
No idea. Costs (excluding wages) in 2013 were £19m. By 2015 they were £45m I've always found that odd but expected that all clubs massage these things to avoid tax and they'd have shit hot tax lawyers telling them how far tthey can go. It's also strange that we had the highest Agent fees of the last 12 months, even with our stong transfer activity. God, the idea of us having 'shit hot' anything is almost inconceivable. FFS. Rayvin 5221
If they arrest Charnley and leave NUFC more or less alone, as someone else said, that's still a win for us.

Unlikely that something this complex was done by just one person. And without Ashley's knowledge

Rayvin 5221
Realistically we're unlikely to get anything further on this any time soon, save for a statement from NUFC saying something like "we have fully complied with HMRC's investigation and will not be making further comment at this time". Then we won't hear anything further for 6 months.

Kevin Carr's Gloves 3894
Any chance they could be fiddling the tax around the club's debt to Mike Ashley?
Happy Face 29
Any chance they could be fiddling the tax around the club's debt to Mike Ashley? Wouldn't involve West ham and the French if it was that. Has to be the deals for Cabella, Saivet, Thauvin etc. I thought it might be related to how the club reported those deals (which is why i went on about our costs), but it must be about how much changed hands in those deals and went in which directions because West ham and the french would know nowt about how we massaged legitimate deals. Good thing about that assumption is that it could be the agents and Charnly walks away with a fly in his ear.

They'll end up punishing the club in some way that hurts the fans more than owt, ban from football ownership/control for Ashley and Charnley please (never happen like).
