in other news, Corbyn is exuding a statesman-like air with pretty much every public appearance since the election. May on the other hand is looking ever more shambolic. If there was another election tomorrow, labour would romp home, I reckon.

Hes campaigning in the marginals too over the summer so that might well swing things. It really does seem that everyone is working under the assumption that there's going to be another election and Labour are the only ones with their act together

So May has agreed to have a 2 part Brexit

Part 1 is to agree our withdrawal from the EU

Part 2 is to agree future relations/trade deals etc

They are blatantly expecting Labour to be back in power in the next 12 months and are setting them up to fail in advance

This was always the EUs plan. It's also not as black and white as you describe. The divorce discussions go so far and then the trade talks kick in. But ultimately, nothing's agreed until everything's agreed.

Ay, as CT says, all the above means is that she's conceded to the EU's view on the order in which things have to happen. Not sure it's a Tory strategy at all - more an indication of how far over the barrel we've been bent already.

If, as seems highly likely, we end up in a situation it's no deal (WTO) or remain, what happens? Are these dippit cunts really going to plunge the whole economy off a cliff just to preserve there weird sense of political ideology?

It would give us the absolute definition of a Tory society. We'll be giving tax breaks to the super rich in order to persuade them to stay, and will have to cut the state back to previously inconceivable levels. So I can see the appeal on that side. However, the Tories must know that doing this would involve making themselves unelectable for a generation - so I'm hoping that when it comes down to it, they end up with such a bad deal that they have no choice but to go back to the country and ask us to confirm that this is really what we want to do.

To that end, I hope the EU give us the worst deal imaginable.

How long is it going to take them to form this fucking administration? They're supposed to be announcing it tomorrow aren't they - Do the DUP know that?

Is anyone in control at the moment, whatsoever
