Rayvin 5175
Yvette Cooper has claimed the same thing as ewerk. That in the national interest all parties should come together. Don't think it's a good idea for Labour though. Plus if they did do it, surely we could claim often and repeatedly that they're weak as piss now. Assuming there is no happy outcome to Brexit, which there isnt, we may as well let the Tories die on that sword themselves. No point in anyone else being tainted by it. Seem to be lots of reaching out today from Tory MP's. Labour could look very poor if they ignore, particularly as their plans are pretty similar. Dr Gloom 21807
What is in the party political interest might not be in the national interest. Difficult/interesting decisions ahead
Rayvin 5175
Have now thought about this some. If there's a cross party deal on it, it takes Brexit out of the political one upmanship equation. Now, the Tories have been relying on Brexit completely in order to win votes in an anti-austerity time. Taking that out and making it a cross party project means they have to be judged on their non-brexit merits. No reason for Brexiters to vote for them, in theory. So Labour could still come out of this with a win even if they do pitch in on the project.

Probably copying the Labour manifesto onto goat skin as we speak. This will turn out as one of those evil coalitions where they take the credit if it goes well and them blame Labour when it turns to shit. Think Labour are going to struggle to stay out of the process.

They won't though because the entire ideological basis of their party is the cutting back of the state. If they stop doing that, they may as fucking well be Labour. Gemmill 44338
Another MP leaving the committee room said: “She was very concerned about people who have lost their seats. The party is going to help them, some of them are in dire financial situations." You couldn't make these cunts up.

Rayvin 5175
No idea how reliable the Express is generally, but this is pretty huge if true - Sinn Fein flying to London to go through Westminster induction... possibly to take seats? You can sort of see why they would what with May 'taking a side'. http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/816361/theresa-may-queen-jeremy-corbyn-sinn-fein-gerry-adams-arlene-foster-dup-westminster
ewerk 30236
It's a non-story. They always take offices in Westminster. It means that they can claim expenses and funding without having to show up to work.

Alex 34817
I think he's often done well in PMQs against May but the difference now is that it'll get a lot more coverage and interest instead of being largely ignored.
