May says she wants to form a government because the country needs stability - like she's in any position to offer that, the brass neck on her

all three talking heads on the bbc panel there across the party spectrum suggested we'd see another election before the end of the year.

Can we win that one? Tougher fight, the Tories won't be surprised next time.

Yeah but, this time they were getting students out on the basis of 'you can make a difference'. And the while they certainly did, they haven't actually achieved anything material. Harder to sell the second time around.

Obviously not sure about the source here, I imagine this isn't the most balanced view but there is a lot of detail in it...https://ansionnachfionn.com/2017/06/06/dup-secures-the-backing-of-british-terror-groups-in-the-uk-general-election/

tbh after the mud not sticking to jezza on this issue it's a bit moot but the fuckin gall of the tories this morning is both stunning but somehow also expected :glare:

Sell the chance to actually win which was never on the cards this time.

If Labour play it smart in the coming months. Start educating people on media bias, rub the Tory faces in the absolute mess of having 2 consecutive unelected Prime Ministers and ending up with a leave vote no one really wanted, mobilise the students who have a renewed interest in politics etc.

Nah, they've created a generation of cosmopolitan liberal elite students who think they are the 2nd coming of the young ones. It's onwards and upwards

Surely people can see that FPTP has run its course now. Though of course by definition you're never going to see much will to change it from the party in power.

They should absolutely hammer May over the links with Libya and the Manchester bomber and her complicity too. Not to mention the relationship with the Saudi Arabians.

Rubbish. You need FPTP to get stable government. PR just results in chaos. I read that somewhere.

:D Well, it did give us a stable government with a majority in 2015. I wonder what happened to them...

They always highlight Italy in that regard as well, conveniently ignoring just about every other country in Europe.

We just don't like any hint of political compromise in this country, even though ironically a pragmatic cross-party Brexit team would be the best way to make the whole thing any kind of success at all. But imagine the cost at the ballot box, etc. etc.
