toonotl 3105
You don't want to put the brakes on the developing world but somethjng has to be done. That state of the air pollution in places like Beijing and Raipur is shocking. Yeah. It's not a simple solution. The West has to give up some things which is unlikely to be done willingly in my opinion. And then the third world, with the additional expense attached to everything 'clean', are going to have the bar to any semblance of 'Western Life' raised on them again. I think everyone needs to act with decisiveness, but it seems everyone wants someone else to act first, so we're stuck in this pattern where small policies are adopted and no discernible change occurs, which then leads to public distrust of the whole thing. What solution is there to be had? It could very well lead to violence eventually.

Rayvin 5294
He may have just declared war on China. I'm not sure yet. I'm struggling not to enjoy this narrative. China need to be put in their box over Taiwan and it's nice to see someone effectively give them the finger. That said, from a humanitarian pov, China is definitely batshit crazy enough to go to war over Taiwan.

NJS 4411
The China/Taiwan call thing is ridiculous but then again the overall situation is a joke as well - they sell billions of arms to Taiwan but can't talk to them? If there was some progress on it then it wouldn't be a bad thing.

I suspect that's a characteristic that he shares with quite a large number of dictators actually, so we'll likely see the necessity of the American constitution come into play quite a bit throughout his Presidency. Ronald Klain @RonaldKlain: This is not "normal:" Today, Trump tweeted cancellation of a contract, employing thousands, after reading that Boeing had criticized him. ewerk 31195
Yes, Trump is a total disaster for this process. But he thinks Climate change is a conspiracy by the Chinese. The Chinese think the same thing but about the West. Politics getting in the way of solutions. Donald Trump's plan to erect a huge sea wall at his Irish golf course has been withdrawn in the light of stiff opposition. The original application cited rising sea levels as a result of climate change as a key reason for the protective barrier.
