Dr Gloom 21930
https://medium.com/@yonatanzunger/trial-balloon-for-a-coup-e024990891d5#.q7q1z54he fucking hell Trump was, indeed, perfectly honest during the campaign; he intends to do everything he said, and more. This should not be reassuring to you. The regime’s main organizational goal right now is to transfer all effective power to a tight inner circle, eliminating any possible checks from either the Federal bureaucracy, Congress, or the Courts. Departments are being reorganized or purged to effect this. The inner circle is actively probing the means by which they can seize unchallenged power; yesterday’s moves should be read as the first part of that. The aims of crushing various groups — Muslims, Latinos, the black and trans communities, academics, the press — are very much primary aims of the regime, and are likely to be acted on with much greater speed than was earlier suspected. The secondary aim of personal enrichment is also very much in play, and clever people will find ways to play these two goals off each other. NJS 4386
The sentiment behind the petition is fine but "embarrassment to the Queen" can fuck right off. They flew flags at half mast for the king of Saudi and sent the jug eared cunt to his funeral which negates any "embarrassment" argument.
Andrew 4770
I'm just a skeptic, that's all there is to it really. But honestly, it's not like Starbucks will be wringing their hands about the plight of refugees. They'll be thinking "this is a big deal, has caught a lot of international attention... how can we exploit it to boost profits". That'll be all there is to it. The only thing worse than being exploited by capitalists is not being exploited by them. Not saying the refugees are losing out. I'm just saying that Starbucks are doing it to virtue signal. And that this sort of false 'kindness' is nauseating.

PaddockLad 17281
Which is a fair enough explanation for people in your situation, but would it mean the same outcome for people whose lives actually are shit? Also, which way do you friends vote at GEs? There was a lad at work last week and he was claiming the usual stuff about Brexit being a cure all for every he perceived to be wrong with the country. I think it's summed up best by the folk the media talked to in Sunderland after the vote. They've been manipulated into thinking that the EU is the root cause of everything that's wrong with this country and how much it affects their lives. I asked which EU laws the lad at work was looking forward to being repealed and he mentioned bananas and vacuum cleaners Think most of my mates would vote for the Tories,or Tony Blair
NJS 4386
I think labour "heartlands" and the rust states Trump won share a sense of betrayal of 35 years of perceived neglect. Being told that the country is booming even before the crisis when you're a taxi driver who used to be a miner is /was a pisstake no matter how much NL invested in schools or the NHS. The same applies to places like Virginia and Ohio and being told by Clinton that the cure all was more of the same with more free trade deals reaped its "reward" the same way threatening people in the NE with financial insecurity did with brexit. Rayvin 5223
More nauseating than smug middle class scepticism? Nah Oh ffs, now we really have come full circle. I'm decrying the middle class, you're decrying me on the same basis, we really are fucked. Divided and conquered. Since I've disappeared up my own arse on this one so I'll back out of it for now and wait for the hysteria to die down.

That'll work.

I think if you have a genuine issue with the gesture by Starbucks than you must have pretty much an issue with everything in a society which, by your own admission, has served you well. Perhaps Starbucks should give all their profits to charity. No doubt you do the same with most of your spare cash. So that kind of self-satisfied bollocks is canny naseating, aye. It'll probably do more good than harm to the people who get a job there. People struggling to find work in a country they've just arrived in. So Starbucks get some publicity out of it. I can live with that tbh.
Kevin Carr's Gloves 3898
Fucking fake Christians, if you're going to pretend to follow a religion to gain power make one up like Hubbard did. Gemmill 44903
I think the hope at this stage is that he's done something illegal and can be impeached. The way things are going at the minute, he's turning the corridors of power in Washington into something resembling a Klan rally.
