Dr Gloom 22149
Southampton would be 3-2 up if it wasn't for the linesman. Le Tissier was fuming at half time

The Fish 10965
Aye ridiculous display by Kane, hell of a player, just an all round quality striker. The technique on his second goal man, he made it look like it was piss easy. ages ago I laughed off suggestions he might beat Shearer's Premier League record... not so confident now. He needs another 200 goals or so? Only 23. Like you I thought no chance. I dont think he will like, but think it will be tighter than I thought it would. Rayvin 5296
If he continues this kind of form, Real Madrid will just come in and buy him away. Don't think we've too much to worry about in this day and age.
The Fish 10965
He's the first player I've seen that might come close. 1.62 Games per Goal, or c23 goals a season. He'd need another 8 and a bit seasons at that rate to get to 260. That said, a couple of 30 goal seasons (which isn't beyond him) and obviously that total doesn't seem so far away. Few caveats of course; He'll have to stay in the Premier League which is less likely now than it was in Shearer's dayHe'll need to stay relatively injury free Lukaku's only 23 goals off the 100 club and he's the same age as Kane. Think he'd have to leave Everton if he wanted to regularly post >20 goals a season.
Alex 35583
Rooney could still eclipse Shearer's PL record but that seems a lot less likely now than it did a few seasons back. He's still 65 behind.

Alex 35583
If he does he won't break Shearer's record. FWIW, I don't think he will whatever happens but he's the only one still playing who is relatively close to it and who could do it.
ewerk 31203
It's taken him over five seasons to score his last 65 league goals. It'd be a hell of an Indian summer for him to even come close.
ewerk 31203
Hell of a paycut to go back to Everton... I think that for the sake of his England career and the chance to become the most capped outfield player he'll stay in the PL and there's nowhere else in England he would go. Rayvin 5296
Be interesting to see that actually. He's on something like £300k/week isn't he? Hard to imagine him stepping down to around £100k/week (which I suspect is at the upper limits of what Everton could afford) but it'd be a refreshing statement if he did. Alex 35583
It's a canny achievement mind for someone who's not an out and out goalscorer, to get as many as he has. He's a neuf et demi [/hipster wanker]

That would be just awful, wouldn't it? The money he's on there is fucking potty like. He wasn't worth that (even taking into account the cost of replacing him) when he signed the contract, let alone now.
